新年明けましておめでとうございます。





今年は、友達の家に滞在し、近所の神社にて新年を迎えました。
ものすごく寒かったですが、火を焚いていてくれたので、
老若男女いろいろな方と火を囲んですごしました。
近所のおっちゃんたちが、お神酒やおでんをふるまってくださいました。





今年もすばらしい一年になりますように！！

I spent New Year’s day in Australia at the beach. So did many millions of other Australians. Unlike many countries, New Years in Australia is in mid summer. All the car parks were full and the hotels reserved and cafes that line the beaches were bursting with friends and families who gathered together to spend this special day by the beach. My partner Michael and I went with our friend for a drive to the beach, and we went via a scenic drive in the mountains. We found that all the popular public spots were full , like the lovely swimming areas, and tourist cafes. New year in Australia is a fun day that people spend with their friends family and loved ones usually outdoors and usually by the beach.

Learning to swallow pills was an unpleasant event for me. For years I couldn’t do it the way people normally do it. With a cup of water. When my father was showing me, I just couldn’t swallow them. So my father became impatient with me. He squeezed my cheeks together, put the pill on the tip of his finger then shoved it to the back of my throat, closed my mouth and forced me to swallow. That was the only way I knew how to take pills until about 5 or 6 years ago. By putting the pill on the tip of my finger and placing it at the back of my throat.

For this Christmas holiday, I decided to visit my cousin in Kansas City, Missouri. She is also from Hawaii but has been living in Kansas City for the past two years. I was excited for this trip, mainly because I haven’t seen my cousin in over three years but also because this was my first time in Kansas City. The first thing I noticed when I arrived was that it was freezing, just like Chicago. The temperature ranged from 15-30 degrees during my visit and there was snow/ice everywhere. The highlights of my trip were probably tasting authentic Kansas City barbeque and going to my first professional football game. We went to two different BBQ restaurants, Oklahoma Joe’s and Fiorella’s Jack Stack BBQ. Both were fantastic and I highly recommend both. The football game I went to had the Kansas City Chiefs battling the Indianapolis Colts. Although we were freezing our butts off during the game, the atmosphere and excitement made it all worth it. 何十回と歩いているこの道。　１０分間歩くだけのこの道。
