My younger sister got married at the beginning of this year to someone from Taiwan. Her husband came to Japan to visit and pay his respects to my relatives in March. Of course, he can’t speak Japanese. However, he can speak English, so it seems like he can communicate with my sister in English. I have spoken to him using my poor English. However, there are times when I can’t express my thoughts by only speaking in English and using gesturres. In such cases, what we use is "kanji." We are both "kanji" users, so we can do it! Even so, there are differreces in the character forms between Japanese and Taiwanese "kanji," so what he said was, "If you try writing it on paper, even if the shapes are a little different, I can guess what it means from the shape or the context." 2004/05/29 (土)

今日は昼からずっと学校にいた。

卒研担当のコットン先生の講演会での発表資料製作をしていた。

時間はたち、午後８時。以前書いた岡山のラーメン屋「きむはち」へ

食べに行こうぜ！という声が上がり（いいだしっぺはもちろんdeble）

はまっこやグリンガムなど数人が超満員状態で乗り込む！

注文はやっぱり「豚菜太肉ラーメン」！ほんまこのボリュームには

いつ来ても圧倒されます。参加メンバー中４人が豚菜太肉、うち３人が

さらに大盛！みんな格闘してた。豚菜と太肉がうまいのなんのって。

超満腹で帰りもスシ詰め乗車でのろのろと帰広～。

2004/05/28 (金)

今日は、午後から学校の講義を少しescapeして、

尾道の某老健施設に働くSTの先生ところへ見学に行った。

地域のケアマネや保健師からの依頼を受け、老健の仕事とは別に、

訪問活動を今でも無報酬で行っているらしい。

今は訪問する患者さんが少ないらしく、実際に伺ったのは１件だけであった。

自宅に迎え入れる患者さんはとてもにこやか。病院のST室などでは見られない、

自宅でリラックスしてこそ出てくる穏やかな表情。訪問の利点のひとつである。

今日は医師の回診もあったので、言語訓練はなし。しかし、一人でいることが

多いために、とにかくいろいろ話したいようで、とてもよく話しておられた。

また一歩、STの訪問活動を行っていきたいと強く動かされるものがあった！

It is now 2:00 in the morning and I’ve finally finished my internship report. Now, I want to take a bath and go to sleep quickly so I am ready for tomorrow. My internship as a psychiatric nurse was busy, but I think it is the heart of nursing. My internship was very satisfying. Tomorrow is my last day, so the idea of parting with the patients makes me sad. I will do my best till the very end and not slack off! Good night.
 
　ただ今、日本は午前２時、やっと実習記録を書き上げました。これからお風呂に入って、明日に備え、早く寝たいと思います。精神看護の実習は難しいけれど、看護の原点だと思いました。実習はとても充実しています。明日が最後なので、患者さんとのお別れが寂しいですã Continue reading →
