The weekend before Memorial Day my friends and I took a long motorcycle trip to Eastern Washington.  We stayed at a campground in Leavenworth, a Bavarian themed town, visited the sights there and then rode on farther east the next day.  One way the trip was a little over 300 miles.  Our destination was Electric City, which is very near the Grand Coulee Dam.  We participate in a big Blues Festival there twice a year.  We saw some amazing Blues artists.  My all-time favorite band is called Junkyard Jane.  They are special friends of ours.  They have a website www.junkyardjane.com.  Another favorite for me this year was John Nemeth.

　家を売りに出したと同時に、次の棲み家（すみか）をみつける作業に着手しました。

　当初は、一軒家と２軒家 （duplex） を見て回ったのですが、これまで、「家を所有すると改造せずにはいられなかった」 ことに気が付き、この癖を治すため、借り家をすることにしました。

　今回の家を売る過程で、常に、買い手の都合に合わせて家を公開するなどの気苦労にうんざりしたことも、借り家に決めた理由の一つです。

　さて、気に入った棲み家はみつかりましたが、上下２階の今の家の半分の大きさで、持っている家具類を入れると、人間が入れない！　それでは、家具類を始末する他ない、ということになりました。予想外にも、大工のダグさん （写真）、それに、家の買い手 （写真） からも、ぜひ家具類をゆずってほしいとの申し出があり、大きなソファー、テーブルはもとより、園芸用具類も始末できました。 Continue reading →

When I was in high school I’d stay up until 4 or 5 a.m.  almost every weekend.  It was also not uncommon for me to sleep until one or two in the afternoon.  However, now that I’ve gotten a little older my concept of time has drastically changed.  The other night I looked at the clock and realized it was almost midnight and my first thought was "What am I doing up so late?"  haha.  What’s more is if I’m not up by eight in the morning I feel like I’ve wasted the whole day.  Kind of strange how much your perception of things can change in ten years.
