my dog

I have a dog named koko, who is 11yrs old. He is a yorkshire terrier. In the picture, as you can see, it looks like he’s sticking his tongue out. This is due to him losing a tooth. Also, if you notice, there’s a white object on his nose. It’s a piece of plastic that he stuck to his nose himself, by sniffing around. I took this pic cause i thought it was funny.

My Natural Therapies School Exciting Upgrade

I am excited to share that I have made the decision to focus my efforts on revamping and upgrading my massage school to become a natural therapies school offering many diverse and interesting courses. My goal is to share the wonderful benefits of natural therapies to who ever is interested.

Therefore we are restructuring our programmes to offer short day, weekend courses as well as longer career path courses. We do this initially by breaking up and reorganizing the courses we have already. The public the have the wonderful opportunity to learn all sorts of massage from reflexology to aromatherapy to swedish to shiatsu without costing them a fortune as many school programmes today do. After this, if the students enjoy our classes they can choose to progress on to our intensive and information packed career courses (Certificate and Diploma) that we offer at self paced structure with payoff options.

Finally as this kicks off, our school team is excited to start preparing other natural therapies courses, such as chinese medicine, reiki, yoga etc expanding the school to a community exponentially to a world wide community for those wanting to learn and grow and make friends and ultimately change their lives for the best.

Botanical Gardens

I often get ideas about what to go visit from co-workers. Like a couple of weekends back someone mentioned a botanical gardens north of D.C. They have a live butterfly exhibit that runs through the summertime. Aleria loves chasing butterflies so we thought we should take her there. It’s free to enter the and walk around, but you have to pay to the see the butterflies. The grounds were beautiful. We took a stroll and looked at all the plants and flowers before reaching the butterfly exhibit. Aleria wasn’t much interested in the butterflies. She just wanted to reach out for the flowers. Overall it was a pleasant experiences.

A medical senryuu

When I first read about Yukiyo’s experiences, I thought they sounded like a TV episode. I did my best to capture the drama and emotion of the story below.

lift my head
wear a smile and enter
the next room

Those who work at the hospital must bear witness every day to battles of life and death. When we see patients recovering, we are overjoyed. Yet, there are also patients who take turns for the worse, and those who suddenly meet their end.

In my first year at the hospital, a patient under my care suddenly went critical. The CPR was having no effect, and I couldn’t bear to leave the room as I watched the life leave his body.

That was when another, older hospital worker scolded me suddenly. He said, “I get that you’re in shock, but there are other patients here! Is this why you’re here? To grieve and show sorrow? Go and do your job!”

I was taken aback. But, I was somehow able to yank the sorrow from my heart and shove it to the side. I finished my shift, and only then did I allow myself to face it once again.

Even now, there are times I find unbearable. Nevertheless, there are always others that depend on me. I think back to the day when I got that wise scolding, and I move on to the next patient’s bedside.
