The fall season has arrived in Hawaii and one of the more obvious signs of the seasonal change is how the south shore is becoming very calm while the north shore is starting to get rougher conditions. One of the nicest tours that I get to drive is the sunrise tour. This takes place from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. The ocean is very calm and there are usually very few boats out that early so I often feel like it is my private ocean! This is the time of the day when dolphins are out and also there is always the good chance of seeing turtles on the surface. There are usually only about 10 customers at most so it is almost like a private tour. Even if there are no turtles or dolphins, the ocean is so beautiful and serene that it doesn’t matter.

　秋のシーズンがハワイにやって来ました。この季節の変化には、明白な兆候があります。サウスショアの海は、非常に穏やかになり、ノースショアの海は、荒れ始めることです。私は、サンライズ・ツアーの仕事が本当に好きです。このツアーは、午前７時から８時まで、約1時間のツアーです。海は、大変、穏やかで、船は、ほとんど出ていないので、自分の海のように感じることがよくあります。この時間には、イルカが、しょっちゅう現れ、また、海面に、しばしば亀を見ることができます。このツアーは、多い時でも、だいたい１０人くらいのお客様しかいないので、プライベート・ツアーのようです。たとえ、亀やイルカがいなくても、海は、とても美しく、穏やかですので、問題ではありません。

My fashion slowly begins to change when autumn comes. Actually, the clothes that I wear depend on the weather. When it is cold, I wear long sleeve shirts and long pants. In particular, I like to wear jeans. As it gets warmer in the spring, I start to wear short sleeve shirts and shorts. No matter the season, I like to wear the color blue. Today, I heard that checkered shirts really suit me.

　秋が来ると私の服装も徐々に変化します。私の着る服は、やはり天候次第です。寒くなると、長袖シャツを着て、長ズボンを穿きます。特に、私はジーンズを穿くのが好きです。春になり暖かくなると、半袖シャツを着て、半ズボンを穿きます。ところで、私は、季節を問わず、青色を好みます。今日、「チェックのシャツがお似合いですね」とほめていただきました。

On the 15th of September, I decided to go into Washington D.C. to look for the Japan America Society headquarters. The headquarters also includes the local society called the Japan America Society of Washington D.C.. I went to the train station near where I live in Virginia and took the train to Washington D.C.. Then, I went for a walk and found the building for the Japan America Society. After that, I realized that the building was just north of the White House. Since it was very close, I decided to walk to see the White House. When I got there, I found a small park with lots of people that were taking pictures of the White House. I decided that I should also take a picture. Unfortunately, it was so hot that day that I had no energy to smile, but I still got a photo.

　９月１５日に、私は、ワシントンＤ.Ｃ.に行き、日米協会の本部を探すことにしました。協会本部の中には、地元のワシントンＤ.Ｃ.日米協会もあります。私は、バージニアの自宅近くにある駅に行き、そこから電車で、ワシントンＤ.Ｃ.に向かいました。ワシントンＤ.Ｃ.に着くと、私は、町を歩き回り、日米協会のビルを見つけました。また、日米協会のビルが、ホワイトハウスのすぐ北にあることにも気づきました。私は、すぐ近くにあるホワイトハウスを、歩いて見に行くことにしました。ホワイトハウスでは、写真を撮っている人がたくさんいる小さな公園を見つけました。私もホワイトハウスの写真を撮ることにしました。しかし残念ながら、その日は、一日歩き回り、また、暑過ぎたので笑う元気すらありませんでした。それでも、何とか写真を撮ることができました。
