サムさんとエリーちゃんと藤沢駅の近くで待ち合わせて、
話しながら境川沿いと藤沢市民会館の横にある公園を歩きました。
We met Sam-san and Elly-chan near Fujisawa station, and walked along the Sakaigawa River and in the park next to the Fujisawa civic hall. We had a good conversation.

向山さんの友人、陶芸家の河村喜史さんのお宅を訪ねました。
北鎌倉で、北大路魯山人の登り窯を継承し、作品づくりをしています。
話に聞いていた伝統的な登り窯を見せていただき楽しみました。
We went to Mukoyama-san’s friend, Kawamura Kihumi-san’s house. He is a ceramic artist. I’ve heard about Noborigama, and it was very impressive that I was able to see the traditional Noborigama today.

小田原市にまつわる二宮金次郎の歴史を知るために、
金次郎の人生をたどる町歩きに参加しました。
We visited some historical places that are related to Ninomiya Kinjiro (1787-1856) who lived in the Edo period.

お神輿を担いで江ノ島の海に飛び込む行事を見ました。
井上裕介さんの勇姿を拝見。お疲れ様でした。
そのあと、勇壮な和太鼓の演奏会を聞きに行きました。
I saw two Japanese traditional events. Inoue-san entered the winter sea in Enoshima. The water must be cold. They did well. After that, I saw Japanese Taiko performance. That was very energetic.

大理石彫刻家、石川直也さんに会ってきました。
江ノ島でGigiというギャラリー＆カフェを経営しています。
石川さんや笠原光咲子さんの面白い作品を観ました。
石川さんが中学生の時に作ったヴァイオリンも見せてくれました。
音楽と美術、芸術の話をして楽しいひと時でした。
そのあと雪の鎌倉を少し歩きました。
We went to Enoshima and met Ishikawa-san. He is a marble sculptor, and running a gallery & cafe shop. Ishikawa-san showed us the violin that he made it when he was junior high school student. We talked about music and art. We had an enjoyable time.

賀来宏之さんの作品を見に行ってきました。
心情を現す作品それぞれに相応しいタイトルがついていました。
１月３１日までポトピという喫茶店で二人展をしています。
We went to see Kaku-san’s art works including his fine origami. There are titles and works that express his feelings.

ＩＴ社会について、サムさんが熱心に話しました。
ペットショップでは、エリーちゃんがショッピング。
We met Sam-san and Elly-chan at Fujisawa station. While walking, we talked about many things, especially internet society. Elly-chan bought her favorite food at a pet shop.

藤沢市善行にある特別養護老人ホームケアセンター、
グリーンライフ湘南で５回目のヴァイオリンコンサートをしました。
和やかな雰囲気の中で、ホールいっぱいの大勢の皆様に、
１時間のヴァイオリン演奏を楽しんでいただきました。
職員の方がたくさん写真を撮ってくださいました。

I had a violin concert at Green Life Shonan in Zengyo. It was the fifth time. They enjoyed listening to music, and singing as well.

噛むばかりあちこち走るかりんちゃん
かむ ばかり あちこち はしる かりん ちゃん
In my apartment, my wife and I are not allowed to have pets. We have always had one or two cats and also had dogs for about 9 years, so not being able to have pets has been very hard. The apartment above us has one dog and two cats and for a long time we have been talking about at least getting a cat. Near our apartment there is a pet store that works with the Humane Society and they recently had lots of kittens so they were giving them away for free! All we had to do was pay for the initial shots which cost about $70.00. We have a great kitten that we call Kareen, after the Japanese fruit, who follows me around like a little puppy and all she wants to do is play! So we have a new addition to our family! If our landlord finds out I will just say we have problems with mice!
私の借りているアパートの部屋では、ペットを飼うことができません。私達夫婦は、常に、一匹か二匹の猫、また、ここ９年くらいは、二匹の犬も飼ってきました。ですから、ペット禁止の規則は、大変、つらいことでした。アパートの上の住人は、犬一匹と猫二匹を飼っています。ですから、私達も、少なくとも、猫が欲しいと話していました。私達のアパートの近くに、ヒューメイン・ソサイエティと連携するペットショップがあります。そして、最近、たくさんの子猫がおり、無料でプレゼントしていました。子猫を譲り受ける人がしなければならないことは、７０ドルほどの最初の注射代金を支払うだけでした。凄く良い猫を手に入れました。名前は、日本の果物にちなんで、「かりん」と名付けました。ずっと私に付いて来て、遊びたがります。子犬のようです。新しい家族になりました。もし、大家さんに見つかったら、アパートにネズミがいると言います。
