藤沢市役所へ競技日程を聞きに行きました。
残念ながら神奈川県での競技はありません。
オリンピック聖火トーチを持って記念撮影。
走らなければそんなに重く感じませんでした。
I went to Fujisawa city hall and I asked the Paralympic schedule. Unfortunately, there is no competition in Kanagawa prefecture. I lifted an Olympic-torch. That was not heavy if I don’t run.

Because of the Covid Delta strain the amount of infected people has gone very high to the point of averaging around 500 people a day. Because of this all the hospitals are running out of beds and there is one hospital on the West side that is now not taking any new patients. This is becoming a very big problem as the other available hospitals are running out of room and according to the news if it continues for another two weeks all of the hospitals will be full.
新型のコビッドデルタ株のせいで、感染者が随分増えて来ました。現在、一日に平均、５００人位の人が入院するそうです。このような状態ですから、すべての病院でベッドが不足しています。オアフ島の西側にある病院は、新しい患者の受け入れを中止しました。他の病院でもベッドが不足しており、非常に大きな問題になりつつあります。ニュースによると、この状態がさらに2週間続くと、すべての病院のベッドがなくなるそうです。

I have some music charm pendants that I bought them in America. It’s 14K, not 18K. I feel happy when I wear a rubber choker with small musical charms.

A few months ago my cat Karin has changed her behavior. She follows me around like a little puppy and she loves to stay by me and let me pet her. My wife said that when I leave the house she stays by the door and cries! She will let my wife pet her but usually ends up biting her! Maybe it is because she is a female cat that she likes to be with me!
２、３ヶ月前、私の可愛がっているメス猫カリンの行動が変わりました。カリンは子犬のように私を追いかけます。そして、私になでてもらいたがります。カリンは私が家を出た後、ドアのそばで、ずっと泣いているそうです。妻もカリンをなでてやりますが、最後は、噛みつかれることが多いようです。カリンはメスですから、私と一緒が良いのかも知れません。

July 15 was my older son Jai’s wedding. It was held on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It was a truly blessed and wonderful occasion. Jai’s bride Kaitlyn looked ravishing and most importantly is a lovely person. The wedding party was very memorable , we socialised, and partied , with great company and terrific food , drinks and entertainment well into the night. The backdrop was truly enchanting. Set in the mountain tops with views to the ocean the atmosphere complimented the occasion perfectly and the overall day was simply magic and indeed a blessed affair. I pray that Jai and Kaitlyn’s married life is full of happiness and love that ever deepens throughout their life and always. The occasion of Jai and Kaitlyn’s wedding will live on in my heart as a precious and sacred memory forever more.
7月１５日は、長男ジャイの結婚式でした。式は、サンシャインコーストで行われました。皆さんから祝福される様子を見て、私は幸せな気持ちになりました。特にジャイの花嫁ケイトリンさんは素敵な人柄の持ち主で、私は嬉しくなりました。結婚式のパーティーはとても思い出深いものでした。海を望む山の頂きにあるパーティ会場は美しくて、気持ちが安らぎました。お二人がいつまでも幸せであることを願っています。ところで、サンシャインコーストは、クイーンズランド州南東部の海岸沿いの地域を言います。

after the storm

嵐去りいたる所に伐採士
あらし さり いたるところ に ばっさいし
Even one month is gone since a big storm passed this area early in July, yet the noise of electric saws and mulch trucks fills the town. As the storm passed during the night, everybody was surprised to see the after-storm wreckage when they awoke the next morning. Around my neighborhood, on the east side, a car parked outside was crushed—totaled—by a fallen tree. On the west side, a big tree fell over, atop the newly constructed detached work room. And the street was blocked by a fallen tree. While our house suffered only a power outage, it was apparent that the citizens of Omaha learned an important lesson: a big tree has to go. Thus, the noise of tree-cutting will continue for awhile.
嵐に襲われたのは7月初めでしたが、ひと月たった今も、大木を倒す電気ノコギリや、木を切り刻んで小片（マルチ）にする機械の音が、町中に響いています。嵐がこの町を通り過ぎたのが夜中だった為、皆、目覚めて惨状にびっっくり。近所を見回してみると、東隣さんは大木が屋外に駐車の車の上に倒れ大破。西隣さんはこれも大木が新築の離れの上に横倒し、二三軒先では木が道を塞いでいる、といった状況。自宅は停電だけですみましたが、嵐が市民に教訓を与えたのは明らかで、嵐の後は庭の大木の伐採の注文が続出、ここしばらく伐採音が続きそうです。

ティータイムやめられません柿の種
ティータイム やめられません かき の たね
間食は柿ピーナッツ止まらない
かんしょく は かきピーナッツ とまらない
When I moved to Japan, one of the first things I did was to go to the convenience stores and try different drinks and snacks that looked very good to me. I never had anything that I did not like but from the very first time I tried Kaki pi, kaki peanuts, they became my favorite snack! I can’t stop eating them and what often happens is that I eat them until I get a stomach ache! There are also lots of different types of juices and drinks but my favorite is milk tea! The two go together perfectly! For me, my perfect snack when watching TV or reading is Kaki peanuts and milk tea! When I am finished with work and go back home I will often have that as a snack before dinner, which makes my wife mad as it fills me up and then I can’t eat!
日本に引っ越して、最初にやったことの一つは、コンビニに行って、口に合いそうな飲み物やお菓子を試すことでした。幸い、口に合わないものは何もありませんでした。しかし、はじめて口にした途端、やみつきになったお菓子があります。柿の種です。食べ始めるとやめられず、お腹が痛くなるまで食べ続けることが、しばしばありました。好みのジュースや飲み物もたくさんあります。しかし、私の一番のお気に入りはミルクティーです。柿の種とミルクティーを一緒に楽しむのは最高です。テレビを見たり、読書する時の完璧な相棒は、柿の種とミルクティーです。私は夕食前に柿の種をよく食べます。妻はそれを見て、お腹が一杯になれば、夕食が食べられないと叱ります。

私のヴァイオリンケースです。背負って歩きます。
ある時、見知らぬおじいさんが言いました。
「背中の光ってるもの何？まぶしいなー」
ある時、見知らぬ年配の御婦人が言いました。
「何が入ってるの？大正琴？ピアノ？」
「ヴァイオリンです」
「珍しいね、この辺で見たことないわ」
見知らぬ人と楽しい会話になります。
（上は軽いフランス製、下は頑丈なドイツ製）
These are my violin cases. I carry this on my back. The person walking behind me says, “It’s dazzling”. “What’s inside? Is this musical instrument case? Japanese harp? Piano?”.
