It has been three weeks since I arrived back in Brisbane, rather disoriented after a long adventure that took my partner Michael and I to Singapore and then to Malaysia and Nepal. I thoroughly enjoyed my travels and the people and country was among the most wonderful experiences in my life. But at the same time I also looked forward to coming back to the first world luxuries, as traveling through Nepal was certainly an experience of a third world country for better and for worse. I am excited to share more about my amazing adventures in the amazing Nepal, when I organize and upload the photos from my travels.

Returning to my hometown Brisbane , and not having lived here for 12 years except for a one month stint, right after my 4 year old Bali was born has been a very nostalgic and interesting experience. This has taken me a few weeks to settle into and I am happy to announce that I am finally feeling at home again. I am also going back to University after almost 20 years and one of my classes (Japanese) takes me back to the University where I completed my undergraduate program which was also a little confronting at first. Along with furthering my Japanese I am studying an “MBA” which is a masters program in business, and also studying law. This is all certainly keeping me busy.

As for my business, Massage Masters School, my partner Michael and I are still running it together and have some great plans for more types of classes and products that we will launch in the next few months. Nevertheless I will revert to a more part time role, to ensure I fit all my study in.

一昨日、久しぶりにNimitz Beachに行ってきました。
少し波が高かったですが、海風がとても気持ち良く、リラックスすることができました。:)
またゆっくりしに行きたいと思います。

Hula dancing is a traditional Hawaiian art form. I went to a Hula festival held at Moanalua Gardens. Hula is very rhythmic and includes singing, dancing, as well as the playing of instruments. The dances require precise hand and foot motions that have metaphorical meanings. The costumes are colorful and elaborate. Supposedly, the hula performances tell a complete story. Unfortunately,since I don’t understand Hawaiian, I don’t recognize the stories. However, the performances are still very moving.

I watched a news clip of a professional baseball game recently. The pitchers were really awful. Three batters were hit by baseballs during one game. Finally, when the third hitter was struck, the benches of both teams emptied and there was a fight on the field.

最近、私は、プロ野球試合のハイライトを、ニュースで見ました。二人のピッチャーが、物凄くひどかったです。一回の試合で、三人のバッターが、球を当てられました。最後に、三番目のバッターが当てられた時、両方のチームが、野球場のグランドに入って、大喧嘩になりました。

It is a tradition to launch fireworks on the 4th of July. Many cities find donors to subsidize large fireworks displays to attract the general public and help celebrate the holiday. People like fireworks because they are big, loud, colorful and exciting. In Hawaii, one of the largest fireworks displays is hosted by Ala Moana Center. This year the fireworks show lasted about 15 minutes. My home provides a good vantage point to view the fireworks so I invited several people over to enjoy the show. We watched while listening to the accompanying musical selection on the radio. It was really fun, an amazing spectacle, and made us feel very patriotic at the same time.

7月7日は七夕。

ここ数年は毎回雨でしたが、

今年は梅雨もあけ、久しぶりに晴れました。

私の七夕は、職場同僚の結婚式でした。

晴れ渡る空のもと、素晴らしい式となりました。

その日以降、ずいぶんと夏らしい天気が続いております。

先日、Kaneoheのショッピングセンター内にある映画館で、WORLD WAR Zを観てきました。今日はこれから地元Kapoleiにある映画館でPACIFIC RIM を観る予定です。:)

ハワイでは、日本よりも安く映画を観ることができるので、これからも気が向いたときにちょくちょく行きたいなと思っています。:)
