Beer or flowers?

booze money
buys a flower instead
for my home

Today something happened at work that made me mad, and I felt like drinking beer as I was on my way home. However, when I stopped by the store on my way home, I saw some exquisite flowers near the alcohol section. I fell in love with their brilliant colors, and decided to buy them instead of the beer.

お酒代黄色い花にして帰る
おさけだい　きいろい はな に して かえる

今日職場で、キーッ（｀皿´) っとなる出来事があり、
帰ってからビールを飲みたい気持ちになりました。
しかし、帰りにスーパーによると、お酒コーナーの近くに綺麗な花が売られていました。
鮮やかな色に心を奪われました。
私はお酒を買うのをやめて、代わりに花を買いました。

今日ブラームスのピアノ協奏曲第１番を聴きました。
２楽章はとても美しいのですが、悲しみを感じました。

この曲を書いたときブラームスはまだ２０代前半です。
一体若いブラームスに何があったのか、きっといろいろ苦労したり悲しみや喜びを感じたりしていたのだろう、そして人一倍感受性が豊かだったんだろうと想像してしまいました。
単に音楽の才能だけではこんな曲は書けないと思います。
人間くささを感じ、ある意味身近な存在に感じました。
天才に対して失礼かもしれませんが…

メモ禁止放った一言メモをする
メモきんし　はなった ひとこと　メモをする

最近、とても不思議なスタッフが入職してきました。
入ったばかりの時は、患者さんや業務を覚えるために、一緒に付いて見学してもらいました。
しかし、彼は私の言うことを下を向いて一生懸命メモを取るだけで、肝心の患者さんやリハビリの様子を見ようとしません。
四六時中メモを取っています。
私は見兼ねて、
「もうメモは良いから、目で見て、動いて頭と体で覚えましょう。」と言うと、彼はそのことをメモします。
「もう、メモ禁止！」と言うとまたそれをメモしようとします。
思わず私は有無を言わさずメモ帳を没収しました。
その時の彼の表情はご想像にお任せします。
普段は実習生や新人の方には必ずメモを取るようにお願いしますが、メモ禁止！と注意したのは初めてでした。
これは彼の伝説として語り継がれることでしょう…

A Strange Employee

A very strange employee just joined our hospital.

My task was to take the new employee on observations so that he could learn more about his job and our patients. However, all he did was look down and take notes on everything I said. He didn’t bother to observe and understand the patients and rehabilitation process, which is the most important thing. He just kept up with his ceaseless note taking.

I couldn’t stand it anymore, and decided to take action. “Alright, it looks like you have enough notes for now. Why don’t you start interacting with what’s around you and learn that way?” I said. He promptly took notes on this new information. “No more notes!” I said, which prompted him to begin a new round of scribbling.

Without thinking and without asking, I snatched his notebook out of his hands. I’ll let you guess what his expression looked like at that moment.

Usually, I actually encourage interns and new employees to take notes. This was the first time I had ever forbidden them. People are probably going to talk about this episode until it turns into a legend.

日々の音あたまの中でメロディーに

小さい頃からピアノをしているせいか、
無意識に、生活音が頭の中で音符に変わることがあります。
鳥のさえずり、車のクラクション、食器の音…

そして病院で働いていても、いろんな音に溢れています。
点滴のアラームは、♭シ シ ド…
心電図モニターの音は、ミ ド ミ ド…
疲れていると頭がパンクしそうになりますが、
この音を一日中聞いている患者さんはもっと大変だろうと思います。
