二宮尊徳の足跡をたどるため、日光市今市を訪ねました。
報徳二宮神社では、武内宮司のご子息さまが、
丁寧に、ひとつひとつ、説明してくださいました。
お墓を作るなと言う遺言に従って、盛られた土の下に、
立った状態で、二宮尊徳は埋葬されているそうです。
二宮尊徳記念館でもいろいろな展示物を見ました。
We went to Imaichi, Nikko-city to visit Hotoku Ninomiya Shrine in order to follow the footsteps of Ninomiya Kinjiro Sontoku (1787-1856). At the shrine, we saw historical materials related to Ninomiya Kinjiro.

日光市今市で、二宮尊徳の足跡をたどる道すがら、
江戸時代の歴史ある佇まいの商店を見つけました。
１５０年前から味噌と醤油を販売しているお店でした。
骨董品に囲まれて素敵な会話とお茶の時間を過ごしました。
カフェを運営しているのは６代目、福田さんの奥様です。
In Imaichi, Nikko-city, we were following the footsteps of Ninomiya Kinjiro Sontoku (1787-1856). And, on the way, we found a store with historical appearance called Hinotame-shoten. This store has been selling miso and soy sauce for 150 years. We had a nice tea time at a cafe in the store.

向山武志さんが出している展覧会を見る為に東京に行ってきました。
向山さんと友人の山内さんと、作品のことや音楽の話をしました。
We went to Tokyo to see Mukoyama-san’s work of art.

スレアちゃんはバングラデシュの可愛らしい衣装で、
バングラデシュ語で歌って元気いっぱいに踊りました。
Children performed dancing and sang many songs in Bangladesh language. That was lovely!

キショルさんから弁財天祭りに招待していただきました。
赤羽の会場で、バングラデシュの伝統的な楽器や演技を見たり、
日本に移り住んで活躍しているキショルさんの友人たちと話して、
楽しい時間を過ごしました。
We were invited to Benzaiten festival by Kishore-san. At the party, we talked with Kishore-san’s friends. We enjoyed Bangladesh folk music and food as well.

冬の庭ですが、花は小さな春を告げているようです。
「和のアンティークショップ 蝉丸」さんです。
I went to Baba-san’s house. Although it’s winter now, pretty flowers are telling spring in the garden.

冬支度履き心地良いブーツ買う
ふゆ じたく はきごこち よい ブーツ かう
I received a gift card this Christmas. I decided to use it to buy a new pair of boots. My old boots needed to be replaced. The old boots had started to fall apart. I think that I had the old boots for over ten years. So, I went to an outdoor equipment store to look at their selection. I wanted boots that would be comfortable and not get wet. I found some grey boots that were water resistant. The grey boots also fit well. The salesperson said that there should be at least one thumb width of space at the end of the boot. Fortunately, there was exactly that much space. Now, I am ready for winter with a pair of warm boots.
私は、このクリスマスに、ギフト カードを貰いました。私は、このカードで、新しいブーツを買うことにしました。古いブーツは、ボロボロになっていたので、買い替える必要がありました。このブーツは、１０年以上、持ったと思います。私は、新しいブーツを探しにアウトドア用品店へ行きました。履き心地の良い、濡れないブーツを探しました。耐水性のあるグレイのブーツを見つけました。私の足に、ぴったり合いました。店員さんは、ブーツの先に、少なくとも親指くらいの大きさのスペースが必要だと言いました。幸いなことに、まさにそれだけのスペースがありました。これで、冬支度ができました。

凍る朝通勤の道上着着る
こおる あさ つうきん の みち うわぎ きる
I usually leave the house at 8am in the morning. The sun is up but the winter air is cold. So, I take a jacket out of the closet and wear it to work. Sometimes I wear a hat and gloves too.
私は、いつも午前８時に家を出ます。太陽は出ていますが、冬の空気は、やはり冷たいです。そこで私は、クローゼットからジャケットを取り出して、職場へ着て行きます。時々、帽子をかぶり、手袋もします。

庭の木々氷の衣装着て光る
にわ の きぎ こおり の いしょう きて ひかる
One morning, it was snow allover. I noticed that glass pieces were scattered on the surface of our porch. Since there was a strong arctic wind blowing during night, I thought a glass bottle might have blown and broken. Soon, it became clear that every tree and branch was covered with ice, and ice started to melt and fall down as the Sun rose. Ice on the north side of branches remained frozen and reflected the afternoon sun. Frozen world!
朝起きると戸外は一面の雪。ふと、ポーチを見るとガラスの破片が一面に散らばっています。夜間、強い北極風が吹いていたのでガラス瓶でも吹き飛ばされたのかと周りと見回すと、目に入る木々の枝は全て氷に覆われています。どうやら、日の出とともに解け始めた氷が木の上からポーチに落下した模様。木の枝の北に面した側は一日中氷が溶けずに夕日にキラキラ輝いていました。（華氏一度は摂氏で、約マイナス１５度です）。
