The sunset tour is usually the last tour of the day. The tour lasts 1.5 hours so not only do the customers see the sunset, they also get to see the Honolulu night lights. Every once in a while I will have a private tour after the sunset tour and if it is a full moon then the customers have a fantastic view of the moon rising over Diamond Head. It is as if the moon and the sun are chasing each other!

　サンセット ツアーは、大抵、一日の最後のツアーです。ツアーの時間は一時間半ですから、お客様は夕日を見るだけでなく、ホノルルの夜景を楽しむことも出来ます。たまに、サンセット ツアーが終わってから、プライベート ツアーをすることもあります。満月の夜は、ダイアモンドヘッドから昇るお月さんの素晴らしい光景を見ることが出来ます。まるでお月さんと太陽が追いかけっこをしているようです。

Collaborative Haiku Poem – キツツキとスエット

woodpeckers
diving straight down
aiming at suet

キツツキやスエット目指して急降下
キツツキや　スエットめざして　きゅうこうか

Suet is hard fat from cows and sheep. Also so called is a feed for outdoor birds that has the fat mixed with sunflower seed and other grains. In winter, suet in a basket can be hung outdoor. Woodpeckers, along with other winter birds, come to the suet. These birds dive down to suet from tree branches, and fly straight up after feeding. Woodpeckers seen in this area are the Downy, Red Belly and Northern Flicker. We pray that woodpeckers survive the winter, and look forward to hear the hammering sounds in the coming spring.

　スエットは牛や羊の固い脂肪のことですが、ひまわりやトウモロコシの種やその他の穀類を脂肪で固めた野生の鳥用のえさもスエットとよびます。冬季、スエット用のバスケットに入れ庭先にぶらさげておきますと、他の冬の鳥に混じってキツツキが飛んできます。キツツキは高い木の枝から真下に位置するスエットを目指して飛び降りて来ます。食べ終えると、今度は真上の枝に急上昇です。ここらでみるキツツキはダウニー（downy)、レッドベリー（red belly) 、ノーザンフリッカー（northern flicker) といったところです。無事、冬を生き延び、春になれば元気に木を穿つ音を響かせてくれるのを楽しみにしています。

夢のよう４つの天気オアフ島
ゆめ の よう　よっつ の てんき　オアフ とう

The weather in San Diego is the best because I was born and raised there. Oahu’s weather is probably the second best in America. It has almost every type of weather you can imagine. If I want to experience grey skies and clouds, I’ll head up to the mountains for a hike. If I feel like being hot and dry, I’ll go to a beach on the west side. When I want to just relax with a cool breeze、 I take a trip to the east side. But! When I want to experience the best weather, I’ll stay along the south shore. There’s always a perfect combination of sun, clouds, and a cool breeze on the south side.

　私はサンディエゴ生まれのサンディエゴ育ちです。ですから、私はサンディエゴの天気が一番好きです。次に好きな天気はオアフ島の天気です。オアフ島には想像できる ほぼすべての種類の天気があります。灰色の空と雲を体験したいなら山に行ってハイキングをします。カラッとした暑さが欲しい時は西側のビーチに行きます。涼しい風でリラックスしたい時は東側に足を運びます。しかし、最高の天気を体験したい時はサウスショアに滞在します。南側には常に太陽、雲、涼しいそよ風の絶妙な組み合わせが存在します。
