I had an enjoyable time with Mabuchi-san and Minagawa-san at a fruit parlor on the first floor of Fujisawa station. The pancakes were getting smaller and I was a little disappointed. The cherry blossoms at Zengyo Community Center are in full bloom.

I received Shonan Koshigoe new wakame seaweed from my friend. The cherry blossoms at Zengyo Community Center have bloomed. I’m happy with the arrival of spring!

小田急線善行から４つ目の駅です。
I bought fresh vegetables. Kozashibuya is the 4th station from Zengyo on the Odakyu Line.

海渡る母の車はハワイ着
うみ わたる はは の くるま は はわい ちゃく
It has been over 5 years since I’ve owned a car. In the past if I needed a car, I rented one. However, now that I have a kid, I make unplanned trips to the store. So renting a car isn’t a great option anymore. Luckily for me, I was able to ship my mom’s old car to Hawaii. It took about a week for the car to arrive in Hawaii from San Diego. Now the old car has a new life on a tropical island.
私は５年ぶりに自分の車を所有します。それまでは必要な時だけ車を借りました。しかし、子供が生まれたので予定外に買い物に行くことがあります。ですからレンタカーはもう良い選択肢ではありません。幸いなことに、母の古い車をハワイに送ることができました。車がサンディエゴからハワイに到着するのに約１週間かかりました。今、母の古い車は熱帯の島で新しい生活の中にいます。

From March 5th proof a vaccinations will no longer be required at restaurants and many restaurants in Hawaii are now allowing more seating which makes the wait time much shorter. I am happy that the strictest of the Covid regulations are now over with. There is still a way to go but it is starting to feel like Hawaii is getting back to normal again. I am hoping that by the summer everything should be back to where it was before the Covid Virus came to Hawaii.
三月五日からハワイのレストランに入る時に、新型コロナワクチン接種証明書の提示は必要なくなりました。またハワイの多くの飲食店の席数が増えて待ち時間は短くなりました。今ハワイの一番厳しいコヴィッド規制が終わりました。まだまだですがハワイは普通の状態の気分に戻ってきました。夏になるまでにはハワイに新型コロナウイルスが入ってくる前の状態に戻ることを願います。

chili dinner
past two years without
stand in line

チリデｲナー３年振りに列に立ち
チリディナー さんねん ぶり に れつ に たち
“The Chili DInner is a fundraiser for the Keystone Community Task Force Annual Scholarship Program” (KCTF newsletter). We were unable to participate for the past two years, due to heavy snow in 2020 and corona virus pandemic in 2021. This year, the weather was nice and many people participated. Chili, cornbread, hotdogs and muffins were all delicious. I’m sure that the fundraiser was successful.
チリディナー（chili dinner）は地域の住民で作る団体 KeyStone Community Task Force が出す奨学金の基金集めのために毎年２月に催されますが、一昨年は大雪のため、昨年はご存知コロナ禍のため行きそびれました。幸い、今年は好天気に恵まれ、住民の参加も上々で、有志の皆さんが作るチリ、コーンブレッド、ホットドッグ、マフィン、どれも美味しく、どうやら基金集めは成功のようでした。

Saturday morning
outing somewhere special

土曜日の朝は息子とお出かけ日
どようび の あさ は むすこ と おでかけ び
Lately I have made a new resolution to have a Saturday morning outing somewhere special with Bali. Bali loves a place called TimeZone that has lots of different games from ping pong to basketball to shooting to car racing all in one place. I like some of the games such as air hockey and shooting the dinosaur and basketball. Other Saturdays we will go to the beach and to the zoo, and if it rains we will go and get a milkshake, bubble tea or a yoghurt or icecream together. I’ve asked Bali to make sure we try a new place each time as Sydney is bursting with a variety of take away or sit in places which is another thing I really enjoy about Sydney.
最近、私は土曜日の午前中に、息子のバリと一緒にどこか特別な所に出かけることを決めました。タイムゾーンと言う所がバリのお気に入りの場所で、ピンポンやバスケットボール、射撃や自動車レースまで、色々なゲームを一つの場所ですることが出来ます。私はバスケットボールやエアホッケーや恐竜を打つゲームなどを楽しみます。他の土曜日は海や動物園や冒険ツアーの散歩もします。雨が降った場合はカフェでアイスクリームとかヨーグルトとかバブルティーとかミルクシェイクを飲みます。シドニーにはいろいろな種類のカフェがたくさんあるので息子は必ず新しいところに行くのを楽しみにしています。そしてそのことがシドニーを好きなもう一つの理由です。

There are signs of spring here and there. Japanese plums (Ume) start blooming. And, here are Vietnamese pretty paper tulips art and my small portrait when I was around 30 years old. The back is a woodblock print of Munakata Shiko. I hope it will be a good spring!

咲いた花山の装飾良い事件
さいた はな やま の そうしょく よい じけん
One of the many things I like about Hawaii are the beautiful flowers! During the different seasons different flowers bloom. When going up into the mountains one can easily see many beautiful flowers growing in the wild! In other parts of the world they are very expensive in flower stores while we have them for free!
ハワイには好きなことがいっぱいあります。一つの事は、季節が変わる時、別の花が咲きます。山に登ったらすぐ美しい自然の花が見えます。世界の他の所ではハワイのお花は高いですが、ハワイに住んでいる人達は自然から無料でもらいます。
