自転車で健康づくり移動中
じてんしゃ で　けんこう づくり　いどうちゅう

Since moving to Toowoomba I’ve enjoyed riding my bicycle here, there and everywhere. The bus system is reasonable but I find it more convenient to ride my bike than wait for the bus. My bike rides take me to the very big central shopping centre and all around town, visiting various appointments and going to the park to play basketball with Bali. Next week I start university which is on the edge of town. I’ll ride there too instead of the bus and it takes about an hour. It’s quite wonderful as my fitness is building as I go on different adventures enjoying this township from my bicycle.

　私は自転車を楽しんでいます。トゥーンバに引っ越してきて、どこに行くにも自転車に乗っています。バスを利用するのも悪くないのですが、バスを待つより自転車に乗る方が便利です。自転車に乗って、とても大きなセントラルショッピングセンターや町のあちこちへ行きます。また、いろいろな人との待ち合わせ場所へ行ったり、息子とバスケットボールをするために公園に行ったりします。私の通う大学は町のはずれにあります。私はバスに乗らないで１時間くらいかけて自転車に乗って行きます。自転車でいろいろな違う冒険を楽しみながら健康づくりが出来るのはとても素晴らしいことです。

海の飴昼食が来た海鮮丼
うみのあめ　ちゅうしょく が きた　かいせんどん

My favorite food is fish. Any kind of way it is made I have always loved fish but my favorite way to have it is as either Sashimi or Sushi. I can eat it every day and never get tired of it! When I work on the boat lunch is provided for us and the staff is very lucky because we get to pick what we want. Any time the staff chooses a sea food restaurant I always get either a sashimi bowl or sushi plate!

　私の一番好きな食べ物は魚です。魚料理ならどんな調理法でも好きです。一番好きな作り方は刺身か寿司です。毎日食べても絶対に飽きません。私は遊覧船の仕事をする時、スタッフは運があって、レストランの料理メニューから昼食を選ぶことが出来ます。スタッフがシーフードレストランを選ぶ時はいつでも、私は海鮮丼か寿司を頼みます。

Collaborative Haiku Poem – 樫の木

oak trees
stand tall, full of copper color leaves
wait for winter

銅色のそびえる樫の木冬を待つ
どういろの　そびえる かしのき　ふゆをまつ

oak trees
fall leaves till next spring
going its way

樫の木や秋の葉春までマイペース
かしのきや　あきのは はるまで　マイペース

Now, it is the peak of red and yellow leaves. Among trees, oaks, standing tall, are full of leaves ranging from light brown to dark red, which remain on trees until the next spring, unlike other trees. Oak trees seem commanding over everything else.

　今、この地域も紅葉黄葉の真っ盛り。その中でも高くそびえる樫の木は赤銅色の葉をびっしりつけ、その葉も他の木々と違い来年の春まで落葉せず、あたりを睥睨しています。

Jewel of the sea
winter home for the whales
Island of Maui

黒い砂鯨の遊び場マウイ島
くろい すな　くじら の あそびば　マウイとう

One of my favorite islands is Maui.  I was so happy that I was able to return there for a scuba diving job for 3 days.  I was able to dive off one of the black sand beaches there and the conditions were wonderful!  On the first week of September there was already a whale spotted in the Maui waters but unfortunately there were no whales while I was there.  The fall and winter seasons can be especially beautiful there and I am hoping to go back one more time this year!

　嬉しいことに大好きなマウイ島で、スキューバダイビングの仕事をする為に、３日間滞在しました。黒砂海岸でダイビングをすることが出来ました。全てが良い条件で素晴らしかったです。九月の上旬は、鯨がマウイ海域に現れる時期ですが、私の滞在中に見ることが出来ませんでした。マウイ島は秋と冬の季節が特に美しいと思います。今年もう一度行けることを願っています。
