祝 ☆ 創作一家からまた花嫁がっ 今日はいい天気。おてんとさんも二人の門出を祝っているんでしょうな。「創作一家」という大学でアカペラをやってた6人の集団。今となっては、アカペラ以上の 胸を張って自慢できる親友たちなのですが、今日はそのうちの一人がついにお嫁に。。。
一度お会いしたけど、感じのいい優しい彼氏さんやった。やから私は…うれしい！！ すごくお似合い。今までのことが走馬灯のように思い出され、バージンロードは本当に感動しました。ひさしぶりにみんな揃ってアカペラで歌えたり、懐かしい顔ぶれにも会うことができました。やからたいがい酔っ払いましたが（汗） いやぁ、本当に結婚式っていいね。無条件にめでたいよね。
いろんな困難も二人なら乗り越えられるさー☆ お幸せに。

Last night Michael and I went to see an extrodinary sight. Right now Kilawea volcano is errupting, and she is sending torrents of fiery lava into the sea! It was a sight not to be missed. We watched in awe from only a few hundred feet away at the steamy and fiery explosions of steam as lava cascaded like a giant powerful waterfall by the tons into the sea, it looked like something not from this world. And the smell reminded me of gorgeous hot sspring , so rejuvinating and uplifting. The entire experience was intense: exhilerating yet harsh, wonderous and yet nerveracking. And really awakened me to the power and might of mother nature. It was an adventure of a life time but I sure was grateful to get into a warm and cozy bed that night where I was safe and protected from all of natures elements as they sure can be intense.

昨年に比べると一月遅いとはいえ、
初雪が降るとやはりうきうきした気分になります。
しかも、一昨日、庭の芝刈りをしたばかりですので、
自然にしてやられた！というのが全オマハ市民の思いです。
久し振りの雪に、ハスキー犬（半分）のヌービーは、ペロペロなめたり、
口を大きく開けて降る雪を受け止めたりとご機嫌です。
今、夜の11時ですが、台所口の木に積もった雪を撮影してみました。
今日、「日本国際キルトフェスティバル」から「厳正なる審査の結果、あなたの作品は一次審査を通過しました。第二次審査参加の準備をお進めください」との知らせが郵送されてきました。ところが、作品提出の締め切り日が11月4日となっています。日時を確認しておこうと東京のキルトフェスティバル事務局に電話しましたら、「2時審査も既に終了しました」とのこと。要するに作品を送っても無駄足を踏むだけなのですね。e-mail も4回送ったとの説明でしたが、勿論見たことなし。グローバルの連絡網は発達したはずですが、ネブラスカ東京間はやっぱり遠いい？
公認会計士の高木さんは、１日中、数字とにらめっこ。そんな中、ヴァイオリンを始めて6年あまり。根気よくレッスンを重ね、次第に楽器が体の一部となっていき、ヴァイオリンが修さんの友となっていくのが感じられ嬉しく思います。

今日は、クリスマスソングをデュエットしました。
In case you were wondering what the Japanese kids eat on a normal basis, this is a pic of a standard school lunch. It is pretty healthy, with your carbs, protein, and veggies. Pretty much all people in Japan are fit, well that is compared to most Americans I would say. They have fairly active lifestyles, long days of work and healthy eating habits, which are starting to have a good effect on me;)
Halloween happens on October 31st. It is a custom for the children to dress up in costume and go”trick o’ treating” through the neighborhood. They knock on doors and yell trick o’ treat. The person that lives there, opens the door and gives them some candies. But for the adults, they dress in costumes and go to parties or parade down Waikiki from one end near the zoo to the beginning of Waikiki. This parading is so much fun to see. The costumes are homemade and very original and sometimes very very scary. The people act out there characters and are so realistic. Every year we used to walk up and down Kalakaua just to see the costumes and enjoy the Halloween festivities. It usually starts around 7:00pm till around 10:oopm. Many houses in the residential areas decorate the front of their houses with ghosts, spiders, jack’o lanterns ( pumpkins carved with scary faces), witches or even sit on the front porch in costume with a basket of candies and suddenly move and scare the children who thought it was just a prop. Halloween time is a lot of fun for all!
On the weekend I went to the seaview farmers markets here in the Puna side of the big Island. It was a really interesting experience with vendors selling lots of delicious mostly organic food, from nearby farms , natural hand made clothes, and all sort of hand made items of using mostly natural products. It really was a feast for the eyes with most of the crowd being a very alternative hippy type of person. My partner and I felt a little awkward but at the same time found it a memorable experience of the kind that I will not forget.
