実家の作業場の片づけを家族でしました。
土埃、砂埃にまみれて黒いでっかいカバンが出てきました。
おばあちゃんが、「おじいちゃんの使ってた獣医の道具だ。」と。
開けると…おおーー。
ボロボロになったカバンの内装に囲まれて獣医さんの道具が無造作に入っていました。さすがにねんきが入っているけど、なんかこの間まで使ってたかのうような無造作っぷり。リアルに注射器や針、生理食塩水にブドウ糖液、消毒薬などなど。。。なんやこれはという獣医独特な道具（？）もありました。
これはなんかすごいぞ～。ホントに捨てるのか～（汗）（ちなみに医療用廃棄物だよな。）おじいちゃんホンマに獣医さんで頑張ってはったんやな。今は亡き祖父の商売道具をみて、すごく不思議な気分でした。
A few days ago I was out spearfishing on the East side of Oahu. I wasn’t having any luck finding fish so I switched to tako mode. After an hour of tako hunting I only saw baby tako so I started heading in. On the way in I saw a big rock with a few holes in it and decided to check it out. One of the holes showed the classic signs of a tako house so I dove down to look inside. When I first looked in I saw a big eye staring at me and a few tentacles moving around. Judging by the size of his tentacles I knew he was going to put up a fight.
After breathing up, I dove down with my 3-prong and stated trying to “tickle” the tako out of his hole. Mr. Tako shook my attacks off like it was nothing so I had to try again. My second try however was successful and I was able get him out of the hole. But the fight didn’t end there. We wrestled around on the surface for a few minutes and eventually I was able to get the upper hand. Once I had firm control of him I bit him under the eye until I heard the crunch. After a few seconds I heard it and the tako turned a ghostly white. I had successfully paralyzed him and won the fight. =)

６じはんから ３０ぷん およぎました。
かぜもなく、うみのみずも あたたかく、きもちよく およぐことが できました。
今日は自分の誕生日でした。
とうとう20代最後の一年となりました。
ということで
この一年は自分の人生にとって
いい一年にしたいですね。
好き勝手あっちやこっち動く今までもいいけど、自分の生きてくフィールドとか大切な人のこと、これからの自分のことを具体的に考えて進んでいけたらなと思っている最近です。友達からメールやプレゼントが届いてうれしかったです。ありがとうございます。サプライズもありました。心がほっこりしました。家では何年ぶりかに家族でお祝いをしてケーキを食べました。「今まで祝えなかった何年か分を買ってきた！」と、でっかいケーキを母が買ってきてくれました。でかっ！！
幸せですな。

As I am laying here in my hotel bed ready to return home. I feel like my final sketch should be a recap of the whole week that just passed. But I am going to stick with just the daily sketch. I missed yesterday. And for yesterday I’d like to call this, Airport part 2.
Initially I did not want to do airport part 2 because I will admit that my dear friend sadness did meet with me again. And I did not want him to meet with me while I typed this. But Sadness will not find me at this moment as I have remembered for myself,keizoku wa chikara nari. 🙂
So here I go, Airport part 2.Actually this time at the airport I was engulfed by a wave of happiness in the begining. It wasn’t until I turned to return to Penelope, that Sadness quickly showed his face before me. In my mind I tried to remember my thought process I had taught myself after having watched my friends and loved ones leave. But it did not work. So instead I allowed sadness to accompany for a while. I knew he would not stay around. And he did not.
It is time to return to life and the cats. Vacation is over. Now it’s time to work hard and Plan the next one. 🙂

Soon all this sketching will lead to a pianting I suppose. 🙂 But at the moment they are all still just sketches. Today I hopped on a bus to haunama bay. I haven’t been there since I was 13 and it was just as beautiful as I remembered it. What I didn’t remember was having to watch a video before entering. But I suppose then all I thought about was getting in the water. 🙂
I capped this day off with fine dining of my favorite, sakana, at Dokaru in Waikiki. And let me tell you…..SUGOI!! The food was great.Actually the sushi I ordered was completly out of the ordinary but tasty all the same. The atmopshere was lovely and the service competent. If you haven’t been there I highly recommend it….that is of course if you have a love for fish and Japanese bi-ru. 🙂

２０年ぶりに新しい水着を買って、スイミングを始めて、一ヶ月経ちました。
ありがたいことに、腰の重い私を誘ってくださる奇特な友人がいます。
一人は、早朝スイミング。日の出前にアラモアナビーチに連れて行ってくれます。
午前6時過ぎから２０分ほど泳ぎます。海の水は思ったより温かく、気持ちよく泳げるのですが、早起きがつらくて、音をあげてしまいそうです。先週と今週は怠けました！！
一人は、日没後、プールに連れて行ってくれます。 始めにジャグジで１５分ほど温まり、２０分ほど激しく泳ぎます。平泳ぎのまねをしたり、体をねじったり、歩いたり、とにかく水の中で体を動かし続けます。そして、最後にジャクジで温まります。これだけで私はヘトヘトです！！
Aha! 6th day. Sketching away.The red Torori. Unfortunately, this is the least exciting Torori. Yes it takes you to Iolani Palace and the state capital. But the route is semi ugly as it takes you through some of the dirty parts of town. Hardly something I’d consider worthy of putting on a tour route, Also Aloha Tower is included on the Route, but just about every shop is no longer in business….
However I still managed to finish off the day with some fun and went and got a Karoke room and sang my to my hearts content. Until tomorrow.

Welcome back again to the daily sketch brought to you by Rodoni. 🙂 Today’s editiion of Waikiki Trolley is the green one. Which takes you on a journey to see Diamondhead Beach and Mountain. Along the way you also see the homes of two famous Nihonjin actors or so our tour guide claims. I did not know one, but the other is Ken Watanabe. 🙂 Which I enjoyed both of his roles in the movies, Last Samurai and Inception. Not only did I enjoy the view and journey on the trolley but at then end of my day there was a live band singing old hawaiian hits that you hear frequently in shopping centers, airports, malls and Radios. 🙂 I also enjoyed dinner at Top of Waikiki. It spins and allows you to see all of Waikiki. The portions were small but the meal was loaded with flavor. I ordered the Coconut (Kokonatsu) Shrimp (Ebi) and Grilled Atlantic Salmon. 🙂 Another great day out in town. Tomorrow I am going for the red Trolley. 🙂 Should be fun. Tell you alllllllll about it tomorrow.
