Green rolling hills with endless breathtaking coastal views and sweeping natural shorelines , pristine beaches untouched by highrises and commercial development, and perfect sunny days , blue skies and friendly folks , The Sunshine Coast is a mecca of relaxation and rejuvenation. I feel very blessed to be part of this diverse community , part country , part beach, part mountainous country , with bustling villages and towns abound, and a diverse small but interesting international community too, the Sunshine Coast is a wonderful new chapter in my life, and a most revitalizing place to call home.

　延々と続く、息を飲むような海辺の景色、そして、それと一体になった、ゆるやかな緑の丘陵地帯、高層ビルや商業開発とは無縁の広範囲に広がる自然の海岸線、 そして、自然のままで、手つかずの浜辺、雲一つない晴れ渡った日々、青空、そして、親しみやすい人達、サンシャインコーストは、くつろぎと活力回復を求める人にとって、あこがれの地です。このような海辺や小高い丘の連なる地域、そして、多様なコミュニティーが存在する地域の一員であることは、大変、恵まれています。多くの人でにぎわう集落や町が、たくさんあります。小規模ですが、興味深い国際的なコミュニティーもあります。サンシャインコーストは、私の人生に、新しく、又、素晴らしい一章を切り開き、新しい命や活力を与えてくれる我が家と呼べるところです。

オーストラリアのクイーンズランド州にある海岸沿いの地域です。
明るい光に包まれた、美しい海の散歩道を、ゆったりと歩きます。

winter brings cold rain
the locals keep playing

Winter on the Sunshine Coast of Australia:

As it approaches the middle of winter the sub tropical feeling of the Sunshine Coast (anetai kikou sei) fast fades and temperatures plummet from a sultry and ever sunny range of high twenties to thirties centigrade, to below 10. The rain is also notorious with this time of year and the locals are seen rugged up to the hilt shivering and shocked at the bout of wild weather as this mid winters change while a dependable part of the climate here, is really an anomaly for this usually sun drenched country sea side region.

A trip to the mountains in mid winter here is a glorious sight, with extra green hills from the constant drizzle of rain that roll on into endless panoramic ocean views that melts into the horizon. The land abounds in natures gifts, various animals can be such as our Australian icon kangaroo can be spotted in a many open parklands across the region, and there is a plethora of bird life who love to sing and whose song can be heard at sunset from one valley to the next, The riverways if not being swum in due to the short winter time cold snap are still abundant with fish and ducks and make perfect fishing for those so inclined.

The more time I’m here the more the beauty and the charm of this unique country landscape burn a place in my heart., and allure me to different adventures that could only be possible here – in the winter of the Sunshine Coast

オーストラリア・サンシャインコーストの冬

　サンシャインコーストに真冬が近づいています。そして、亜熱帯地方特有の気候の変化が急速に始まっています。毎日、晴れ渡り、摂氏２５度か３０度くらいの蒸し暑い天候が、摂氏１０度以下に急激に下がります。また、この時期、雨がよく降ります。地元の人たちは、この寒さに震え上がり、暖かい服を着込みます。この真冬の悪天候は普通のことなのに、いつも晴れている地域に住む人にとっては意外なことです。
　
　サンシャインコーストの真冬の山に行くと素晴らしい景色を楽しむことが出来ます。絶えず降り注ぐ霧雨が、深い緑の山々に拡散していき、延々と続く海岸線の全景が水平線に美しく溶け込みます。この地域には、自然の贈り物がたくさんあります。例えば、オーストラリアのシンボル、カンガルーをはじめ、色々な動物を、幾つもの公園で見ることができます。ここには、夥しい数の鳥も生息しています。太陽が沈む頃には、鳥のさえずりが谷から谷へ響き渡ります。川では、短い冬、寒波の襲来で、人は泳いでいなくても、魚やアヒルがたくさんいます。釣り好きにとっては、ここは最高の穴場スポットです。
　
　サンシャインコーストで生活する時間が長くなればなるほど、この土地の美しさと独特の魅力に、私の心は熱く燃えるものを感じます。そして、この地の冬でのみ可能な色々な冒険に私の心は魅了されます。

autumn is coming

Even though it is still just the middle of August, the Autumn season is quietly approaching. It is coming in a very quiet way. The days are slowly getting shorter while the nights slowly get longer. There is a noticeable difference between 6:00 am in the end of August when compared to the end of July. The winds are slowly starting to change and even more noticeable is how the north shore is starting to get a little rougher while the south shore is becoming a little bit more calm. Unless a person has lived in Hawaii a few years it would be hard to see these changes as they are very subtle. It is as if there is a whisper in the air that the autumn season is coming.

　ハワイのオアフ島は、まだ八月中旬なのに、秋が静かに近づいているのを感じます。それは控え目な形（目立たない形）でやって来ます。昼間は少しずつ短くなり、夜がだんだん長くなっています。八月終わりの朝６時と７月終わりの朝６時では、随分違います。風もゆっくり変化を始めています。しかし、もっと分り易い変化は、波です。北の方の波は、徐々に高くなりますが、南の方の波は、穏やかになっていきます。ハワイの季節の変わり目は非常に微妙です。数年は住まないと、このような変化は分かりにくいと思います。ゆっくりした風の変化は、秋が間近に来ていることを囁いているようです。
