美しい庭園の島小旅行
うつくしい　ていえん の しま　しょうりょこう

My wife and I recently were able to go to my favorite Island vacation spot. The island of Kauai. Unfortunately it was only for 3 days but it was still a very relaxing break. It often rains in Kauai, especially in the fall and winter, so because of that my wife and I were not able to go hiking but we were still able to enjoy the beauty of the island by just driving around and taking walks by our friend’s condominium where we were able to stay. Even though it was just 3 days our inner batteries are all charged up!

　先日、妻と私はカウアイ島へ行くことが出来ました。短い休暇ならこの島は私達の一番好きな旅行先です。残念なことに三日間だけでしたが、とてもゆったりした時間を過ごしました。カウアイ島では秋と冬によく雨が降ります。雨のせいでハイキングはできませんでしたが、ドライブの時と友人から借りたコンドミニアムの周辺を散歩する時、カウアイの美しさを楽しむことが出来ました。わずか3日間でしたが、心身ともにしっかり充電することが出来ました。

Collaborative Haiku Poem – ポプリ

lavender
fragrance of potpourri
after a long hiatus

久し振りポプリの香りラベンダー
ひさしぶり　ポプリ の かおり　ラベンダー

I just bought at Asian Market a jar filled with dried lavender flowers. A news that supply chains are improving seems correct, as the Asian Market is packed with imported items from overseas. Although dried lavender and other flowers are used to make a tea, I decided to make a potpourri, which I completely forgot about, as other events, such as the corona pandemic, Ukraine and recent midterm elections, occupied our minds. I am reminding myself of the importance of extra space.

　乾燥したラベンダーの花が沢山詰まった容器をアジア店で買いました。サプライチェーンの作動不能が改善に向かっているとのニュースは事実らしく、アジア店は海外からの輸入品があふれんばかりです。乾燥ラベンダーはティーとして飲用も出来ますが、久し振りにポプリを作ってみました。コロナウイルス禍、ウクライナ、最近の中間選挙と時勢の動きに流されがちのここ数年、ポプリの事などはすっかり忘れていました。余裕が大切と自省しているところです。
