部屋には、元気になる小さなものたち。

I’m attracted to the appearance and scent of plum tree outdoors. In my room, these small things cheer me up. Photo of me & Dolce, it was taken in Honolulu, I was in my mid 40’s.

鎌倉市川喜多映画記念館で、
「恋におちたシェイクスピア」を見ました。
庭園の梅の木はとても風情がありました。
I saw a movie called “Shakespeare in Love” at Kamakura City Kawakita Film Museum. The plum tree in the garden was very tasteful.

梅の花も善行市民センターの旗も、
冬の風にしっかりと揺れています。
The Japanese plum(Ume) blossoms are swaying firmly, and the flags at Zengyo community center are flapping.

風は冷たいですが、春の気配を感じます。
向かいの空き地の梅の花は青空に咲き誇り、
部屋の小さな葉っぱも伸びています。
Although the wind is cold, I feel the sighs of spring. The plum blossoms are in full bloom against the blue sky. The small greenery in my room is also growing steadily.

寒風の老木に白い花が咲き始めました。
凛とした気品を感じます。
Japanese white plums (Ume) are starting to bloom on the cold wind tree. I feel dignified elegance.

タリーズコーヒーを飲みながら話しました。
寒い日でもエリーちゃんは元気いっぱいです。
I met up Sam-san near Fujisawa station and we talked while drinking Tully’s coffee. Elly-chan is full of energy even if it’s a cold day.

亡き義母が７０歳代に作った七宝焼きです。
縁起の良いおめでたい印象の作品。
ザクロ、又は、打ち出の小槌にも見えます。
生命力とユーモアを感じます。
My late mother-in-law made this cloisonne work when she was in her 70’s. This work looks like a pomegranate or lucky mallet. Wish me luck! It’s really energetic and humorous.

I retired from the Navy and have a new job now. Saving up money to move to Bali and live there. Max is old but doing fine.
アメリカ海軍を退役して新しい仕事に就きました。お金を貯めてバリ島に移り住む計画です。マックスは歳を取りましたが元気です。

ホノルルのナコスの事務所で日本語クラスを行っていた時、
バリーさんは日本語を習いにいらっしゃいました。
海軍の仕事で船に乗ることが多く途切れがちでしたが、
その後、米海軍横須賀基地の勤務になった時には、
横須賀の家に行ったり、スカイプで話したりしました。
マックス君は横須賀にも住んでいました。
これからの新しい生活もお幸せに！
