Just when I thought it was getting hot, but it’s raining today. With each rain, the green of the trees that have finished flowering swells. The beautiful green of various shades is God’s artwork. So I had some fun writing “Swelling green, the work of God” in Japanese calligraphy. (Michiko)

天国やビーチを攻める夏の波

The summer swells have come to Hawaii with much force, On the south side of Oahu there has been big waves every day in June. The North side of the island is now very calm but the South side has been the scene of very big swells to the point that many snorkel and other boat tours have had to cancel because of the rough conditions. In a swell only the shallow areas are affected but the problem is the boats have to go through the shallow areas when leaving the harbor so it can be dangerous if the waves are too big. According to the weather reports this summer will be unusually rough.
夏の強い波がハワイにやって来ました。６月はオアフ島の南側に毎日大きい波が押し寄せています。島の北側は今とても穏やかですが、南側の波はとても荒くて大きいですから、色々なスノーケリングボートやツアーのボートはキャンセルしなくてはいけませんでした。大きい波の時、浅場だけ波が大きいですが、ボートは港を出る時は浅場を通らなくてはいけませんから、波が大き過ぎると危険です。天気予報によると、今年の夏の波は普通より大きいそうです。

Back living in Sydney and loving it ! On April 30 I relocated from Toowoomba with Bali to Sydney. After settling in and finding a nice granny flat close enough to the CBD in an area called Marrickville, Bali and I have the habit of enjoying lunch out together on Sundays. We do this after church and then we try to spend a couple of hours looking around Sydney or come home and give the house a clean before relaxing for the evening and getting ready for the next week’s work.
シドニーに戻ってきてすごく楽しんでいます。４月３０日に次男バリとトゥーンバからシドニーに引越してきました。シドニー中心部にほど近いマリックビルという地区に、お庭の離れの小さな家を借りて、やっと落ち着きました。日曜日には教会のあとレストランで昼食を取るのが楽しみになりました。その後、２時間ほどシドニーを見て歩くか、家に帰って夜ゆっくりする前に掃除をしたりして、新しい週に備えます。

スカイプで話しながらハイクポエムを作っています。

今年3月に善行すずき眼科で白内障手術を受けました。それまで定期的に検査を受けていましたが、私は手術の決心を延ばし延ばしにしていました。2月についに「急に見えなくなったらどうするんですかっ！」と鈴木先生からお叱りを受けて決心がつきました。楽譜もパソコンも本もよく見えるようになりました。今日は3か月後の検査と受診でした。経過は良好です。「最新のレンズを使ったので経過を国際学会で発表したいから中村さんの資料を使っても良いですか」とのご質問に「どうぞ」とお答えしました。手術を受けてそれまではっきりと見えていなかったことがわかり感謝しています。そのことを忘れない為の私の覚え書き3/15, 3/23, 3/31, 4/4, 4/16, 6/12です。My notes three months after cataract surgery.（美智子）

修三さんとドルチェちゃんのお墓参りをしました。たくさんの楽しい思い出を天国に持っていったので幸せにしているのがわかります。私は毎日毎日小さな新しい一歩を作っています。（美智子）
I visited the graves of Shuzo-san and Dolce-chan. I know they are happy because they took so many good memories with them to heaven. I’m making small new steps everyday. (6/11/2024 Michiko)

一つは私のヴァイオリン。もう一つは夫 修三のヴァイオリン。今は2つ私のヴァイオリン。Dolceドルチェはイタリア語の音楽用語で柔らかく演奏すること。明日6月11日は、主人の三回忌です。いつも守ってくれてありがとう。(中村美智子）

These are also flowers from Kona, Hawaii. I went there for an orchestra concert. They arranged everything for me, including flights, transportation, and accommodation. About 25 years ago. (Michiko)
