実家へ4日間帰っておりました。
室内でも吐く息白い状態。
石油ストーブの前から離れられません。
やはり寒いね。

そして雪もすごい。
去年をしのぐ積雪。。。「とりあえず、見れば分かるから、気をつけて帰っておいで。」と母より。
帰ってみれば（；＝■＝）…分かった。「雪がたくさん積もっている」
という表現よりも、「雪に埋もれている」という表現の方がしっくりくる

一階埋もれて、二階の屋根に行けちゃうよ。

積雪でつぶれるというのは冗談じゃないね。
私も屋根の雪下ろし手伝ったけど、かなりの重労働。
たった一日で肩が筋肉痛になりました。

休み毎にこれを繰り返してる両親、ごくろうさまです。
おじちゃんのご冥福をお祈りいたします。これがおじちゃんの寿命やったん。

編集部のほうから「雪がつもったら食料の確保はどうしますか？」との質問がありましたので、雪の日の住宅街の写真をお目にかける事にしました。降雪があると市から除雪車が出動して主な道路はだいたい直ぐに除雪されます。除雪前でも４輪駆動車であれば通行可能ですから買い物にも行けます。写真はうちの横の道路で、昨日は雪無し、今朝５センチほど積もりました。家の周りの除雪は個人の責任で、雪が小降りになると、皆さんいっせいにショベルを持ち出して雪かきがはじまります。

All of my family and friends know I recently officially retired from video games. I haven’t played in months now. But, My brother felt the need to remind me of a game I wanted before my retirement. TEKKEN VS. STREET FIGHTER, slated to released in March 2012. Though I am tempted, odds are I won’t be making that purchase. I don’t have the time to spare anymore.

For the last few months I have been back in Oahu While I enjoyed my experiences on the Big Island  I definitely feel like Ive come here at my home in Makaha. The weather is particularly lovely, even though it s winter it is always warm and although its the rainy season most days are sunny. The ocean is more wild than usual, but there are so many beautiful places to swim and there is a gorgeous mountainous backdrop. It truly is paradise here in Hawaii. Today Im reorganizing my house and setting up my office.My boy Bally is 3, he is riding his little bike. and I found a pair of rollerskates while cleaning up that I want to try out. Bali found a “lazyboy” surf board and is now wanting to go to the beach to swim.

My husband, 7-month old daughter and I went out for a walk the other day around our neighborhood. It was an unusually warm day for this area in January. We were expecting snow and instead we were welcomed by a warm shining sun. The day was still a bit chilly but beautiful. There were other people out walking too. Children were in their yards playing while the squirrels running up and down the trees. It was a nice day over all. My daughter had a fun time watching everything from her stroller.

気温が零下になると、屋内暖房とは縁のない車庫はブルツとくるほど寒く、その寒さは食料の貯蔵にぴったりで、いわば第２の冷蔵庫となります。ここ２、３日は特に冷え、最高温度でさえ華氏２０度以下ですから、私どもの車庫のように南向きで時に陽が差し込んでも車庫内は０度付近で果物や根菜類の野菜の貯蔵にばかりか、焼き上げたパイを冷やすのにもぴったりです。

たまたま、この欄で、JohnSmithさんがHECOが省エネのため、冷房と第２の冷蔵庫の使用を控えるように呼びかけていると書いていらっしゃるのを読み、寒い地方では、第２ばかりか第３の冷蔵庫を所有できますよ、と言いかけて、そうそう。家中で電気ストーブ使って、現に電気はしっかり消費している事に思いいたり黙っていることにしました。

もうあかんなぁ、と処分することがよぎった時に…

今日は、ドライバーライセンスの更新に行ってきました。
手続き料は４０ドルで、8年間有効です。８年後の私の誕生日までです。
Exp: 02/20/2020の数字が気に入って、しばし眺めています。

討会にいってきました。北部ブロックの事業所が集まって在宅における連携について事例を通して深めていくというもの。普段なかなか深く交流できないケアマネさんやヘルパーさんとグループワークを通して交流できました。ケアマネさんはいろんな調整をしてはりますね。ヘルパーさんもいろんなこと考えながら介入されてる。

一番なるほどと思ったことが、ヘルパーや訪問看護が入る時間帯を曜日によって午前午後と分けて介入することで、利用者さんの在宅での１日の様子が確認できるのよ、と教えてもらえたこと。確かに…。

住宅改修の業者、医療機器の業者の存在も確認できて、さわりだけやけど、こういうことをやっているんだということが分かって、かなり有意義となりました。

 The Germans do have some strange habits which seems weird to people who are not used to it. J

Here some examples.

1.       The majority of Germans do not say “excuse me” when needing to get by in a crowd spot. For example in a market like Walmart. They would rather just stand behind you and huff and puff than simply saying “excuse me, may I pass?”.

2.       Also weird that Germans, who are thought to be people of order and organization, cannot seem to walk in a straight line while shopping.

3.       On the German Autobahn , the equivalent to the U.S. interstate highway system, there are section without any speed limit. Means when you have a Porsche 911 for example you are allowed to go 160 miles per hour or even faster. J Be careful when you go on German highway. It`s your fault when you drive with 60 miles/hr on the left line and a Porsche hit you in the  trunk with 160 miles/ hour. J

4.       In German language sometimes you put the verb at the end of the sentence. Isn`t that strange? For me, that makes it easier to study NIHONGO. Because the Japanese do the same crazy thing. J

5.       German words can be very long. That concerns most likely the attribute nouns.  For example “a small blue car” is called “ ein kleines blaues Auto’.  But on the other hand “heating oil storage room” is a noun  – Heizoellagerraum – 😉 a Noun can be as long as a row in your textbook 🙂 crazy crazy, I am glad that I dont have to study German 🙂

6.       Germans are used to celebrate a lot. Each town has their annual beer festivals , wine festivals, carneval etc.  But that is sometimes not enough on possibilities for a German  to celebrate. Means when nothing is coming up at the weekend or during the week we make up a reason to celebrate.  Like “ Hey Michael got a new dog….. awesome let`s celebrate it. I am going to buy the cases of beer and meat for bbq. Let everybody know about the bbq party tonight at 7.00 pm at my house”

7.       Germany is called the Schnitzel-Republik. J Schnitzel is like a fried pork cutlet with fries and side salad. We love it. Its like the Hamburger in the U.S.

I am going to think about more weird things Germans usually do and consider as part of their culture. It might be interesting for some of you guys here at the bloq. 🙂 At least Michiko will be interested in this. hihi.
