Lately at my job there has been only two Japanese speakers so even though it is not really busy, it is very busy for myself and the other speaker because it is up to us to handle all of the Japanese customers that come to ride the submarine. Sometimes because of this we have to work on our days off. Usually it is only a half day but there are occasions when it is a full day. Because of this I find that the days just run into each other and when I have a day off on the next day I am scared to hear my phone ring or have a text come in because it often means that I have to work! It is as if my phone is yelling at me not to make any plans!
最近、私は、ツアー客がそんなに多くない日でも、忙しさに振り回されています。日本人客への対応は、すべて日本語を話せる者に任されているからです。現在、私の職場には、日本語を話せる者は二人しかいません。また、その為、休みの日に出勤を余儀なくされることもあります。大抵は、半日ですが、丸一日のこともあります。せっかくの休みは、丸潰れになります。休みの前日、私は携帯電話の着信音を聞くと、ギクッとします。それは、しばしば、出勤依頼の通知だからです。携帯の着信音は、まるで、予定を入れるなと叫んでいるようです。
