今日は、音楽のために、長後に行ってきました。
今年もチームナコスの演奏会がたくさんあります。
私はメンバーが楽しめるプログラム作りをしています。
早田さんはバロック音楽が好きです。張り切っています。
お正月には俳句を送ってくれました。私も返句しました。

Tdoay, I went to Chogo. Hayata-san likes baroque music, so I picked Bach and Corelli. I’m making programs for Team NACOS concerts.

１月２２日に、藤沢に初雪が降りました。
積もった雪は、翌日、溶けていきました。

We had the first snow in this winter on January 22nd. However, it has melted the next day.

寒川町で青木さんと会ったあと、
サムさんと藤沢駅で待ち合わせました。
商店街の通りから、川の方まで歩きました。
歩きながら、色々な話をしました。
After we returned from Samukawa-machi, we met Sam-san at Fujisawa station. We talked about many things and laughed a lot while walking.

寒川町の青木さんのお宅を訪問しました。
先日、お会いした時と同様、
エネルギッシュなお姿に、こちらも元気をいただき、
大いに刺激を受けました。
瓢箪や竹を使って、新しい作品作りに
知恵を絞っていらっしゃるご様子です。
熊手七福神を頂きました。
Today, we visited Aoki-san’s house in Samukawa-machi. He is full of energy and making new bamboo products and gourds. These are unique and useful items. Thank you for a unique lucky charms made by bamboo and gourds that bring in good. It was very nice seeing Aoki-san again and he really inspired me.

カヴェナさん宅訪問のあと、
藤沢市民ギャラリーへ行きました。
向山さんの作品、小さきものたち。
陽だまりのような温もりがありました。
After that, I went to Fujisawa civic art gallery. Mukoyama-san works of pottery, which have the warmth.

寒川町の青木さんのところで買った瓢箪と
竹製の肩叩きを持ってカヴェナさん宅を訪問。
瓢箪で作ったカヴェナさんの小笛は素敵でした。
これから瓢箪や竹を使って、
色々な楽器作りも一緒に楽しみたいですね。
チーム・ナコスの為の選曲などをして
ひとときを楽しみました。
I went to Kawena-san’s house today. I gave a cute gourd and bamboo shorder tapper that I bought from Aoki-san in Samukawa-machi. Kawena-san had a cute whistle of the gourd that he made. We would like to create interesting musical instruments and enjoy music. We played some music for the Team NACOS concerts.

なかやま整骨院で、９回目の治療です。
いつまでもヴァイオリンが弾けるように、
体全体の硬くなっている筋肉を治しています。
無理なく、気持ちよく、凝りがほぐれています。
I received another treatment and massage from Nakayama-san today. This is my ninth time visiting to their clinic. I feel the stiffness in my body is becoming to loosen up. I would like to continue to play the violin as long as possible.

今日の善行富士です。雪の富士山が美しいです。
新しく完成した藤沢市役所にも行ってきました。
市役所展望デッキから見える富士山。
先日、賑やかな東京都庁の展望台を訪れましたが、
藤沢の展望デッキは、優しく落ち着いた空間でした。
This is today’s Mt. Fuji in our town, Zengyo Fuji. Mt. Fuji is covered with snow. It’s so beautiful! I also went to see a brand-new Fujisawa City Hall. The view of Mt. Fuji from the observatory of this building! The atmosphere is gentle and calm compared to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

音楽の用事で、府中市へ行ってきました。
私の信頼する腕の良いヴァイオリン工房です。
楽器の調整と弓の毛替えをお願いしました。
３０年以上使ったドイツ製ケースは壊れました。
新しいフランス製のはハワイの虹を連想させます。
ヴァイオリンのメンテナンスが終わるまでの時間、
東京都庁の展望台に立ち寄り、次に、
新橋の日本演奏連盟の事務所に行きました。
メールでやりとりしている高橋さんとお話しました。
夕方、府中で楽器を受け取り、藤沢に戻りました。
I had plans for music, so I went to Tokyo. I went to see a violin craftman for the maintenance of my violin. I bought a new violin case too. During the repairing, I stopped by a office of Japan Federation of Musicians and said Hello to Takahashi-san. In the early evening, I picked my violin up and returned to Fujisawa.

Just this past week I got a big surprise. I saw my first whale for the season! Usually the whales in Oahu start coming around late October at the earliest so I was very surprised to see one. My friend works on a snorkel tour boat in the West side and he told me that he recently saw two of them. My happy surprise soon turned into a sad surprise. I noticed that the whale, which seemed to be calf, had a pink underbelly. All the other staff that were with me were very surprised. The whale got very close to the boat, about 20 feet away. The last time it turned over I saw why it was pink. It’s bottom was full of scars and bite marks! The pink color was the blood mixing with the water. My friend who was on the very front of the boat looked down at the whale and following very close behind was a very large tiger shark! The whale was in fact dieing! I was so glad that the shark did not attack as it would have been terrible for the customers to see. I am sure the whale eventually died and was soon eaten by the sharks which sounds very bad but that is how life goes in the ocean.
９月下旬のことです。もの凄く驚くことがありました。私は、今シーズン、初めて鯨を見ました。オアフ島には、早くても１０月下旬にやって来るのが普通なので、本当に驚きました。私の友人は、西オアフのシュノーケリングツアーの仕事をしていますが、この間も、二頭の鯨を見たそうです。しかし、今シーズン初めての鯨を見たと云う、私の幸せな驚きは、すぐ悲しい驚きに変わりました。鯨は赤ちゃん鯨のようでした。そして、お腹の部分は白ではなく、ピンク色をしていました。鯨が８メートルくらいのところまでボートに近付いて来た時、みんな、驚きました。そして、最後に、鯨が反転した時、私は、なぜピンク色だったかが分かりました。体は、噛まれて傷だらけでした。ピンク色は血と水が混ざっていたからでした。私の友人がボートの先端から鯨を見ると、鯨のすぐ後ろから大きなイタチ鮫が追いかけていました。鯨は死んでいたのです。鮫が、私達の目の前で鯨を殺さなくて良かったと思います。お客様がそんな光景を目にしたら最悪です。結局、鯨は死んだと思います。そして鮫に食べられたと思います。悲しいことですが、それが海に生きる動物の生活です。

冬になると、アオフ島の海に、鯨がやってきます。
鯨の季節は、１月と２月がピークだと思います。
この時期、ほぼ毎日、鯨と遭遇します。
