アルさんは名古屋、横浜を住まいの拠点として、気が向けば香港へ飛び出し、生まれ故郷のニュージャージーからシアトル、そして、ハワイへと旅をしています。毎年、同じようなことを言っています。 趣味のヴァイオリンが、アルさんの旅の道連れです。ヴァイオリンは独学で弾いていて、まだまだ上達しているそうです。 アルさんから１年に一度ぐらいナコスに電話がかかってきて、遊びにきます。独身を通している８５才の青年アルフレッドの足取りは軽かった！
