Cyber crime has hit home　サイバー犯罪こんにちわ Identity theft （アイデンテイテイ窃盗）を始めとするサイバー犯罪はすでにおなじみとなっています。私はこれまで幸いにもサイバー事件らしきものには巻き込まれませんでしたが、何時まで無事でいれるものやらと、まあ、心構えといったものはしていたところへ、やっぱり起きました。まだ解決したわけではありませんが、とって良かったとおもわれる手段を、ご紹介しておきます。なにかのお役に立つかもしれません。 昨日、未知の会社から手紙がきて、私がAデパートへOOドル借金があって、この会社が集金をしているので９月某日まで払うようにとのこと。これは全く晴天の霹靂というわけではなく思い当たることがあります。Aデパートには昨年８月一度行ったきり。今年６ヶ月ぶりに行って買い物して、レジでAデパートのカードを出すと、このカードはだめです。新しいカードを登録して、古いカードは破棄するようにといわれました。今回の手紙にある料金はこのキャンセルされた古いカードを使って、それも、聞いた事のないデパートで生じ、どうやら、コンピューターのデータの間違いか、キャンセルされた事を知っていながら誰かが使ったとしか思われません。 こういった問題の適切な解決法を知るべく、まず、オマハ市のBetter Business Bureau (BBB)を訪ねました。事情を説明すると、最初にすることはFederal Trade Commission (FTC) に電話し、次にFTCの websiteに行き、必要な書類をダウンロードして、くだんの会社に送付するよう。その際は送付を確認する為に登録箋付き郵便にするように,等々を教わりました。 短時間には解決はしないでしょう。するべき事がわかっただけでも幸運と思うことにしています。
