ノーマンのスタジオで小さな鉢植えの植物をみかけました。「かぼちゃ」の種を植えたとの事で、本人はたいして期待していない様子です。

ともあれ、日当たりの良いアパートのベランダに置いてみたところ、ぐんぐん育って、ついには「かぼちゃ」らしき実もなってきました。本日、直径を計ってみたところ8センチといったところ。しばらくは暑い日が続くとの事で、このまま行けば食べられるかも？

I just recently found out my younger brother has diabetes.  He is crushed about this information, I know I should go to check myself out but I am worried about what they might tell me.  I love food and not being able to enjoy what I want, when I want is going to kill me.  What surprises me most is that he is so much skinner than me and he is my younger brother.  Although I think I eat healthier than he does I am heavier and older.  What does that mean for me!  I hope nothing.  My family has a history of diabetes which I know I will probably get, but we are still so young and getting it now is pretty rough.  I feel for my brother I think that he has gotten used to the idea now.  He seems to be in a better mood now, but always being hungry is what’s affecting that.  He even lost some weight which is great but we’ll see.

Wow, its been a while since I’ve written here. To date there hasn’t been much going on in my life. But just to recap – I quit my job at the hospital, in order to come back working for the State. I’ve done some minor renovations to my house – added an extra 400 square feet, so that’s all done. But I have still been procrastinating on the painting however. I still have some minor things that I want to do with the house but it seems like its a neverending process. Also working on my little farm out in my backyard – check out my mutant squash! Anyway, hope everyone is doing well at NACOS.

忙しいタックスシーズンが終ったので、今年初めて日系人＆日本人のカラオケの会に出席しました。始まる前の少しの時間をお借りして、バイオリンを弾かせて頂きました。この日はイタリア映画「ひまわり」のテーマソングと「ロミオとジュリエット」の2曲。久々に人前で弾いたので緊張しました。娘の友人がシェラトンワイキキホテルに滞在しているので、ちょっと練習させてもらいました。いい景色でした。

I just bought a second PC. It’s a mini laptop from Dell, only has a 10 inch screen. It is really a great computer for what I need. It is so light and small and does everything I need it for, which is just school work. All I really need it for is writing reports and research on the internet. I do mostly everything else on my home computer, but the laptop is perfect for going to coffee shop and doing some reading. It fits right into my book bag. And it was very inexpensive, which was why I finally decided to get it.
