About one week ago, I wrote about my mother-in-law, Tomi-san. Here is a photo of her and my husband Shuzo (nickname is Shu-chan). Tomi-san and Shu-chan are in heaven and having good conversation. (Michiko)

shoulder surgery
long road to recovery

止まらないピリピリ痛む妻の肩
とまらない ぴりぴり いたむ つま の かた
Seven weeks ago my wife underwent shoulder surgery. It was a torn rotator cuff. She had torn the muscles in her shoulder while pulling a diving customer underwater. The surgery went very well and she had to wear a sling for six weeks. After six weeks had passed she was able to take off her sling at home but she still has to wear it outside for another six weeks. During this time she has not been able to work and I do all the cooking and other house hold jobs. 5 more weeks and she no longer needs the sling.
七週間前、妻は肩の腱板断裂の手術をしなくてはいけませんでした。スキューバダイビングの仕事の時、海の中でお客様を引っ張った時、肩の筋肉が破れてしまいました。手術はうまくいきました。手術のあと六週間は腕を固定するためにスリングを使わなくてはいけませんでした。六週間が経ち、家の中ではスリングを使わなくてもよくなりましたが、外出する時にはまだ六週間着用しなくてはいけません。手術のあと妻は家事ができないので、私が料理を作ったり、家の仕事を全部しています。７週間が経ちました。あと５週間するともうスリングが必要なくなります。

週に一度お墓参りをしています。毎回お供えの花飾りを作っていくのが私の楽しみです。バス停から鎌倉満福寺さんのメモリアル ガーデンまで気持ちの良い木陰を歩きます。霊園の私の区画は人気が出てほぼ完売だそうです。「明るい雰囲気が漂っているのがわかるのでしょうね」と管理事務所の方が言います。（美智子）
I visit the grave once a week. I enjoy making the flower offering each time. I walk through the pleasant shade of trees from the bus stop. My section of the cemetery has become popular that it is almost sold out. People can see that there is a bright atmosphere. (Michiko)
