ようやくバルコニー洗浄と塗装が終わりました。窓を開けると爽やかな風が吹き抜けます。五月の工事中は窓を開けてはいけなかったので、エアコンを暖房にしたり冷房にしたり、室内での季節感が少し薄れていました。六月の風が嬉しい！（美智子）
Finally, the balcony cleaning and painting are finished. When I open the windows, a refreshing breeze blows through. During the construction work in May, I was not allowed to open the windows, so I had to turn the air conditioner on and off. I’m happy with the June breeze now! (Michiko)

Spring has returned
咲いた花色の爆発春が来た
さいた はな いろ の ばくはつ はる が きた
The winter season is slowly ending here in Hawaii. Unlike other colder climates there is a bigger change between Winter and Spring. There may be a transition from cold snowy weather with a drab landscape that eventually warms up and then the trees and plants bloom again and the cold weather makes was to a more milder temperature. In Hawaii the Winter is not that cold and the change to Spring is brought on by changes in the wind movements and the blossoming of different flowers and trees. I think to really appreciate the changes of seasons in Hawaii it is necessary to live here at least two years.
ハワイでは冬の季節はゆっくりと終わりに近づきます。他のもっと寒い気候の地域では、冬から春への変化はより顕著に現れます。寒くて雪が降る単調な色合いの風景から、やがて暖かくなり木々や植物が再び花を咲かせ、寒さが和らぎ気温もだんだん穏やかになることでしょう。ハワイの冬はそれほど寒くなく、春への移り変わりは、風向きの変化や様々な花や木々の開花によってもたらされます。ハワイの季節の移り変わりを本当に味わうには、少なくとも2年間ここに住む必要があると思います。

有隣堂ヤマハで３０分のドラム個人レッスン。６回目(3/7, 3/21, 4/4, 4/18, 5/9, 5/30)でした。ドラムとシンバル全部で９個。叩くタイミングがずれると思わず笑ってしまいました。（美智子）
A 30-minute private drum lesson at Yurindo Yamaha. Today was my 6th lesson (3/7, 3/21, 4/4, 4/18, 5/9, 5/30). There are nine drums and cymbals in total, so I couldn’t help but laugh when the timing of the hit was off. (Michiko)

毎月処方薬を出して頂く為の受診日。診察室に小さな絵をいくつも飾っています。石川院長のお父様が描いたそうです。お会いしたことはありませんが、前院長も謙虚な方だという評判を聞きます。看護師さん達も優しい。かかりつけ医を選ぶ私の価値観。壁の絵とパンフレットです。（美智子）
My monthly visit to get my prescription filled. There are several small paintings hanging in the examination room. They were painted by Director Ishikawa’s father. I’ve never met him, but I’ve heard that the previous director was also a humble person. The nurses are also kind. These are my values when choosing my family doctor. いつでもできる３分間。心を整えるミニ瞑想、ミニヨガのようなものです。バッハのイギリス組曲第３番プレリュード。２，３回弾くと指も頭もすっきりします。（美智子）
For me, it’s a magical 3 minutes that I can do anytime. It’s like a mini meditation or mini yoga that clears my mind. Bach’s English Suite No. 3 Prelude. After playing it two or three times, my fingers and mind feel refreshed. It’s magic. (Michiko)
