Learning a language to me is a long process and never stops. I have begun to polish my Japanese, but it still seems very rusty in a lot of different areas. Being in Waikiki has helped me a lot with my Japanese. I have to answer a lot of the same questions over and over again, soon I will be ready to expand my knowledge of the language and develop a bigger vocabulary base to work from.

と思ってかなり興奮して
思わずハモ仲間数人にメールを送ってしまった。

めっちゃ楽しそうやん！
そしてめっちゃうまい！
感動した。
ウチもハモリたい〜〜〜〜っ。




夜に素敵な女から電話がかかってきた。
ありがとう。

Yes, it has been a while since I last wrote a blog. Here’s what I’ve been up to: California, Korea, Maui. In Cali I visited with a bunch of friends who I haven’t seen since high school. It was a great time and collectively we only sustained one broken ankle and one concussion…so all and all a rather tame visit. In Korea I went to the only baseball game I’ve been able to see all season. I have to say I was impressed by the Korean fans’ enthusiasim. Maui was nice, but a little overrated in my humble opinion. Now I’m back but only until Sunday. Then I disappear once again, only this time for a little over a year. Hopefully I’ll come back with some good stories to write about. Until then take care.

夕方、ご飯を作り終えた台所でくつろいでいると、
ハッと外の様子に気づき、つっかけを履いてダッシュジョギング
真っ赤な夕日発見！！

たそがれとろみどり。

母の病院の送り迎えと一緒に (母方の) おじいさんおばあさんを連れて遠く離れたホームセンターへ。おばあさんたちは「元気発進！エ○カップ」(栄養ドリンク)を箱買い。車内で私にもくれたのでクククイッと飲みました。うんっ元気出てきたっ!!　　気がする!

その後、4人で地元のレストランへ行き、お昼ご飯を食べました。おじいさんが店内で「これまずい。」とでっかい独り言を放ったので、思わず店員を見ながら冷や冷やしてました。（田舎なので、その店員も知り合いの人。）

たった数時間でしたが、母曰く、孫が連れて行ってくれたことにおじいさんもおばあさんもすごく嬉しがってたらしい。一日遅れた敬老の日ということで。よかった、よかった。

深夜明け２連休。ゆったりした場所で過ごしたくなり、実家に帰ってきちゃいました。音楽聞きながら運転っていうのが好きやから、前より「実家帰省３時間」の敷居が低くなった。

しかし…ヽ(＿ ＿|||)…　今回は高速道路走行中、死ぬかと思った。東北での台風の被害が報道される中、近畿のとろみどりも闘ってました(汗)　夜の雨の中、稲光する空の方へどんどん進む自分。雨が強くなってきて、稲妻も落ちて…、しまいにゃぁ雷神様がバケツひっくり返したんかと思うくらいすごい勢いでバッシャァァーーンッと大豪雨　ε≡へ(*-Д-)ノ

ぎゃぁーーっ！　前が見えん！　ワイパーが慌てふためいてド根性で左右へ振れるけど…　うーんっ無理！見・え・んっっ！　しかぁしっ！ここで死んでたまるかぃなっ！＼(￣□￣)／　目を凝らし背中を丸め、前屈姿勢でハンドル握りしめ高速道路で60キロ以下に減速してみんなで徐行運転。いいかぁ〜誰もぶつかっちゃダメだぞ〜。そうなりゃ大事故だぞぉ〜。神経ピリピリ。

約15分後どうにか分厚い雲の下は抜けたみたい。生きててよかった…。　事帰省。鈴虫の鳴き声の中お風呂でリラックスです。はふー。

You know how palm trees in Hawaii have metal rings around them? (I think they’re so rodents can’t climb up the tree and gnaw on the coconuts. If they were able to do that, then the coconuts might be more likely to fall down and bonk people, I guess. I don’t know if that’s really true — it’s just what I’ve heard. 😀 ) Normally, they’re plain metal, but Queen’s Hospital got remodeled a couple of years ago, and apparently they decorated the rings around the palm trees on their lawn. 😀

Yesterday was Mike’s niece’s 5th birthday party. It was a big event! Mike’s sister rented a bouncy castle with a slide and hired balloon animal-makers. Mike’s niece is really into ladybugs right now, so she asked for a ladybug balloon — this is what the balloon guys made for her. They were amazing!
