This is the garden of Mr. & Mrs. Baba, who runs the Japanese antique shop “Semimaru” in my neighborhood. I look forward to seeing the balloon vine every year, so I went there today. It’s hanging from the ceiling of the garden like a cute paper balloon. (Michiko)

家で用事をするには時々しゃがむ動作が必要。左股関節の可動域が狭い為その動作は痛みます。ですが何事も工夫次第。床に物が落ちた時にトングを使って拾います。（美智子）
When I do things at home, I sometimes need to squat down. This movement hurts because my left hip joint has a limited range of motion. But I can do anything with a little ingenuity. When something falls on the floor, I use tongs to pick it up. (Michiko)

３日間の断続的な雨が止みました。午後は蒸し暑い晴れになりそうです。バッハのCD（このCDはパールマンとミルシュテイン）を聴いて足のストレッチをします。地道な組み合わせの時間の流れが好きです。（美智子）
The intermittent rain that had been falling for three days has stopped. It looks like it will be a humid sunny afternoon. I’m stretching my legs while listening to a Bach CD (Perlman and Milstein). I like the flow of time that comes from a steady combination. (Michiko)

サムさんとカフェでコーヒーを飲みながら色々話しました。路面温度が高いのでエリーちゃんはお留守番。ハワイのお土産をいただいて嬉しい！サムさんは菜食主義者で甘い物もあまり食べません。私も少し見習ってアイスバーの型で健康的なオリジナルアイスを作ることにしました。ミニ洋酒も買ってこの夏は新しい味に挑戦。（美智子）
Sam-san and I talked about many things while having coffee at a cafe. Elly-chan is staying at home because the temperature on the street is too high. I’m happy to receive souvenirs from Hawaii! Sam-san is a vegetarian and doesn’t eat much sweets. I decided to follow his example and make my own healthy ice cream using a popsicle mold. I also bought a mini bottle of liquor and will be trying new flavors this summer. (Michiko)
