These photos were taken at the Omaha Botanical Garden called "Lauritzen Gardens", situated at the eastend of Omaha right by Missouri River.  Because the transcontinental railroad expanding from the eastern US chose to come to Omaha, crossing the river from Iowa, two large locomotives are exhibited permanently on the garden ground.

私のアメリカ人のクラスメートには、ほとんど家庭があります。

ですから、クラスの後すぐに帰ります。

そんな訳で、私はシカゴにアメリカ人の友達がいません。

ずっと気にしていました。

しかし、ある日、ネットで中国語を話せる友達が欲しいという

文を見ました、すぐに彼女に連絡しました。

彼女は大学院一年生です、専攻は法律です。

北京で、一年間、中国語を勉強しました。とても上手だと思いました。

　サムさんが新しい玩具（ＳＯＮＹ　Ｍｙｌｏ）を持ってやってきた。ソニー製品だけれど、日本では買えないソニー製品だそうです。お値段は、確か、３５０ドル。

　インターネットも出来るし、メール、スカイプ、グーグルトーク、ヤフーメッセンジャー、ムービー、ビデオ、ＭＰ３、音楽、写真などなど、携帯電話にもなると得意でした！ Continue reading →

Well here I am the last weekend before my finals begin and I find myself pretty bored.  I figure at this point if I don’t know it I won’t know it.  So besides a little review here and there I really don’t have anything to study.   As a result I suddenly have a lot of extra time on my hands, but with no idea on how I should spend it, I’ve basically just sat around since Friday night trying to think of something to do.  Guess hard liquor is once again looking like a viable option.

  朝まだ涼しい内に家の近辺を歩くことを始めて一週間過ちました。２，３日続けばおんの字と、自己信頼はまったくしていなかったので、少々驚いています。まずは、私の歩行ルートをご覧いただきます。

  これまで、運動といえるものは、我流の屈伸運動ぐらいで済ませていたのですが、春頃、オマハのあちこちのアパートの下見をやっていた際、どのアパートにも設備の完備したジムが付属しているのに気付き、「そろそろ真面目にやらねば」と夫と顔を見合わせたことでした。  ９月に入ると、内陸性気候の特徴で急に涼しくなり、暑さを、運動しない口実に使えなくなりました。おそらくこれが潮時ならんと、手軽な歩くことから始めま した。運の良いことに、ナコスのブログでMarikoKounoさんが足腰運動の重要性を数字を挙げて説明していらしゃるのを読み、おおいに励まされまし た。願わくば、歩行で下地を作っておいて、ネブラスカ名物の雪が飛び、気温が零下になる頃には、ジムで各種の器具を使いこなせるようになりたいものです。 Continue reading →
