ここ数日かなり強いトレードウィンドがビュービューと吹き荒れています。もったいないので先週末は久々にカイルアビーチにウィンドサーファインに行きました。いい天気でいい風でした。おかげで体中が筋肉痛です。運動不足がたたりました。ここ数年はカイトサーフィンが流行っていて、ここのビーチでは人数でウィンドサーフィンを抜いてしまいました。ウィンドサーフィンは今ではかなりマイナーなスポーツとなり、新しく始める人が少ないので、カイルアビーチのウィンドサーファーはほとんど中高年です。

ノーマンのスタジオで小さな鉢植えの植物をみかけました。「かぼちゃ」の種を植えたとの事で、本人はたいして期待していない様子です。 ともあれ、日当たりの良いアパートのベランダに置いてみたところ、ぐんぐん育って、ついには「かぼちゃ」らしき実もなってきました。本日、直径を計ってみたところ8センチといったところ。しばらくは暑い日が続くとの事で、このまま行けば食べられるかも？

忙しいタックスシーズンが終ったので、今年初めて日系人＆日本人のカラオケの会に出席しました。始まる前の少しの時間をお借りして、バイオリンを弾かせて頂きました。この日はイタリア映画「ひまわり」のテーマソングと「ロミオとジュリエット」の2曲。久々に人前で弾いたので緊張しました。娘の友人がシェラトンワイキキホテルに滞在しているので、ちょっと練習させてもらいました。いい景色でした。
