日が射すや夜の冷粘る深窓に

ひ が さす や　よ の ひえ ねばる　しんそう に


The sun shines bright
in a secluded room
night’s cold lingers.




In winter and early spring in Wahiawa, it gets cold at night. Things warm back up during the day, but when you touch something that hasn’t yet felt the sunlight, it’s often quite cold. Today I brought my computer with me to Honolulu and when I took it of the case, it felt like ice under the warm sunlight.

ワヒアワの冬や春先は、夜、寒くなります。昼間は暖かくなりますが、日光にあたっていない物にさわれば、かなり冷たいです。今日、コンピュータをホノルルに持って来て、鞄から取り出しました。温かい日射しの下での手触りは、氷の様でした。
