白旗神社のミニマーケットへ行ってきました。お買い物をして鈴木宮司さんと境内でおしゃべり。宮司さんは神職のみならず藤沢に活気を注ぐお人柄です。今後の「白旗神社でマルシェ」開催は奇数月の第4日曜日。楽しみです。（中村美智子）
I went to the mini market at Shirahata-jinja Shrine. I enjoyed shopping and chatting with Chief Priest Suzuki-san. He is not only a Shinto priest, but also a person who brings vitality to Fujisawa. “Marche at Shirahata-jinja Shrine” is held on the fourth Sunday of odd-numbered months.

ニューヨークに住んでいるキショールさんのいとこご夫妻が新婚旅行で日本へ来ました。今日は藤沢に会いに来てくれました。素敵な秋の一日でした。
Kishore-san’s cousin who lives in New York got married and visiting Japan for their honeymoon. Today, they came to Fujisawa to see me. It was a beautiful autumn day.

A clear blue sky was spreading when I visited the grave today, so I was able to see the beautiful snow-capped Mt. Fuji to the west from the grave. I’m thankful.

I wrote the Iroha poem in Japanese in calligraphy on business cards made of cedar.

鎌倉市川喜多映画記念館の雰囲気は快適です。
I went to see the movie “The Truth” starring Catherine Deneuve at Kamakura City Kawakita Film Museum. I like the atmosphere of this mini theater.

広めの部屋をもらってお茶をしながら練習。
I’m glad that I got a larger room than usual for practicing the violin alone at karaoke room.

建物や木々の間に冠雪の富士山が見えます。
I made a small scene of our town with embroidery. I can see the snow-capped Mt. Fuji between the buildings and trees.

Collaborative Haiku Poem – 舞う落ち葉

fallen leaves
dancing in wind
mistaken for birds
風に舞い鳥と見まごう落ち葉かな
かぜ に まい とり と みまごう おちば かな
Sparrows and junkos that come to our backyard look just like fallen leaves for their sizes and behaviors. Red colored cardinals also look like red fallen leaves. On windy days, it is particularly difficult to differentiate birds from leaves.
庭に来る雀やジュンコー（和名 ユキヒメドリ）と楓、その他の落ち葉は、大きさは勿論のこと、動作まで良く似ています。真っ赤なカーデイナルも赤の落ち葉のごとくで、風の強い時は特に、鳥か落ち葉か見分けをつけるのが難しい時があります。

ナコスファミリーの報告です。ネブラスカ州オマハ市に住んでいるケリーさんご夫妻の庭の風景です。現在は草花や小動物を愛し、Collaborative Haiku Poemをゆったりと楽しんでいるヨーコさんは、九州大学医学部卒業で元麻酔科医です。ノーマンさんは小児科医で画家、ピアノも弾きます。
ハワイでのナコスのメディア活動の一つを少し書きます。日英両語で医療関係のことばと表現を中村美智子とヨーコケリー共著、イラストはノーマンケリー医師が担当でハワイ・パシフィック・プレス紙上に１９９２年から２０年間連載しました。
