This is Baba-san’s garden at “Japanese Antique Store Semimaru”. The rare double Dokudami (Houttuynia cordata) bloomed this year too. It was a wonderful time while having tea. I also received some Dokudami flowers and I displayed them in my room. (Michiko)
These photos were taken on May 8th, 2022. It was at a time when my husband (Shuzo Nakamura) at a rehabilitation facility. On this day, I pushed his wheelchair to the large window on the 5th floor. Mountains in the distance, blue skies, white clouds, long green forests, houses, and Shinkansen tracks. Shuzo sat straight in his wheelchair and he was quietly looking outside for about an hour. He must have been looking far into the distance, keeping in mind the joys, the pains, and the future happiness. When I look back at the photo now, it looks like a scene from a movie. I plan to go see a movie next week. (Michiko Nakamura)
About one week ago, I wrote about my mother-in-law, Tomi-san. Here is a photo of her and my husband Shuzo (nickname is Shu-chan). Tomi-san and Shu-chan are in heaven and having good conversation. (Michiko)
Hawaii State Library. This photo was also taken when I lived in Hawaii. It is one of the places where adults can relax and spend some time, just like stopping at a cozy park. (Michiko)
This is me sitting at the Honolulu Museum of Art. I added shell buttons to the back of the red blouse. I like to think of little fun things to do anytime and anywhere. (Michiko)
This is a bridge on the Ala Wai Canal in Honolulu. I like it because it looks like a violin. I loved walking here before the sun went down. (Photo by Michiko)
Seven weeks ago my wife underwent shoulder surgery. It was a torn rotator cuff. She had torn the muscles in her shoulder while pulling a diving customer underwater. The surgery went very well and she had to wear a sling for six weeks. After six weeks had passed she was able to take off her sling at home but she still has to wear it outside for another six weeks. During this time she has not been able to work and I do all the cooking and other house hold jobs. 5 more weeks and she no longer needs the sling.
Scenery seen over the past 10 years. Plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, maple leaves, and small flowers in this corner. I came to Fujisawa from Hawaii and enjoyed it. My last memory of the scene in April. (Michiko)
