Music and I
I started playing the piano when I was six years old. My mother took pity on me watchin me passionately banging away on the toy piano that I got from my grandmother and let me take piano lessons. When I was young, I always said, "I’ll become a pianist!!" After I turned 10 and we moved to Miyazaki, I performed in my first competition. However, the reality of it was harsh and, in one competition, I kept failing for four years in a row. Even so, I didn’t give up. Be that as it may, I just wanted somebody to appreciate me.
After I entered middle school, I became interested in music therapy, and I realized that music has the inate power to heal. I started thinking that it would be nice if my piano, too, could have such power. After that, the music coming from my piano began to change. My way of thinking also changed from the "I want everyone to appreciate me" and "I want awards" to "I’/ll put my heart into playing my own music. I’ll be happy if just one person in the audience thinks it’s good." And so, I became able to play my own style of piano, and I was even able to win awards. Continue reading

Continue reading

I enjoy collecting anime cards.
I enjoy collecting anime cards. I have about 100 in all. I walk around with the good cards in my pocket. Every so often, I take them out of my pocket to look at them. After playing with them, I just leave them lying around, and I get scolded by my mother. I am bad at cleaning up after myself. In addition to this, I like to draw pictures.

I like sports.
My birthday is August 19. This year I will be seven years old. I like sports. I play soccer and frisbee and go swimming. I especially like soccer. I am kicking the ball around everywhere I go. I even kick the ball inside the house, and the ball hits things around the house including my family.

My life in elementary school
Every morning, I wake up at about 7:30. School starts at 8:30. It about a five-minute walk to school. In order to keep the bond between the neighbors strong, there are about 10 of us that all go together. At lunchtime, we all eat school lunch together in the classroom. It is very good. The thing I like the best is agepan (a type of bun that is filled with a filling such as curry, coated with bread crumbs, and lightly deep fried). We have rice twice a week. Sometimes, we also have ice cream for desert.
School gets out around 3:00. Then, once a month, we have Homemaking Club activities. We make things like crepes and parfait.
When I get home from school, I go to piano lessons or go swimming. I have been learning the piano since I was four years old. At this year’s recital, I played the piano wearing a pretty dress with yellow-green lace. I was a little nervous. I go swimming once a week. I can swim all the strokes: the butterfly, the crawl, and the breast stroke. I swim about 400 yards every time I go. My time doesn’t improve, but I enjoy swimming. Continue reading

When I was little…
When I was little, my head was big and, when I went out for a walk, I would fall and get a big bump on my head. Even so, I have now become a healthy boy who loves soccer, swimming, and making people laugh.

When I was young…
When I was young, I was never scolded by my mother, and I was a bright child with a good understanding of things. Even when my younger brother was born, I looked after him well, so I was a big help to my mom.
Now, I am working hard at swimming. I have become able to swim the crawl in a minute and 12 seconds. I have been learning English conversation since I was three years old. However, I haven’t had much success. I love the Harry Potter books, and I can’t wait until the fourth book comes out.

I’m doing fine.
I’m doing fine. I’ve been doing alot of exploring here in Japan. Every weekend I get on the train and go some where new. I go to Tokyo and Yokohama alot. I found a very nice China town area in Yokohama a few days ago. It is right next to Yamashita park which has a nice view of Yokohama bay. I plan on buying a new camera to replace my old one that get broken when I dropped it. When I get it I’ll take some new pictures of the places I found and send them to you.
The apartment that I am renting from Ms. Nakamura is kind of expensive but very nice. I can see down town Yokohama from my window and it is very close to the Keikyu train line. Which makes it very easy to get to work. I bought a car since I’ve been here too, Continue reading

More Of My Bad Memory
More Of My Bad Memory
Tonight, when I was driving home on the freeway, a car in the middle lane honked its horn, so I looked over to see what was happening. There was a man driving his car so it was pacing mine, and the man was looking at me and grinning! I looked at him for two long seconds, but I didn’t recognize him, so I looked away. He didn’t look like any of my high school classmates, so I had no idea who he could be. Later on, I saw him get off the freeway, and I noticed he was driving a BMW. Then it occurred to me that the man might have been the guy who sold me my car! That man had said that he was planning on buying a BMW after he sold me my Porsche. I felt so bad! That man had probably been driving behind me for a while, and then got excited when he realized that I was driving his old car, and so he wanted to say hi. I wish I had remembered his face!
