昨年、引っ越して来たアパートの裏の緑地帯で木の葉を食べているバンビを見かけた時は、我が目を信じられませんでした。前に住んでいたノーフォークでも各種の野生の動物を楽しみましたが、人口２万五千の田舎町に比べれば大都会のオマハ（人口３９万）でバンビにお目にかかるとは全く予想していませんでした。種明かしは、どうやら、土地利用の仕方の違いにあるようです。ノーフォークは見渡す限り農牧地で、自然のままに残っているところは稀ですが、オマハは商業都市で、市の中心地以外にはまだまだ自然が残っています。しかし、この近辺も開発が続いています。鹿にとっては厳しい将来といえます。今日、また、バンビを見かけましたのでパチリ。木陰が好きなようです。なんとか見分けがつくといいのですが。

…したので遅れて届いた母の日の花。 実家のお母さんから、「花届いた。」と留守電に入ってた。 でっかい鉢植えのオリエンタルリリー・ホワイトという花を送った。 写メ見たら、想像以上にでっかかった。 まだ全部つぼみ。 お母さん花育てるの好きやから、ナイスチョイス☆自分。 ウチも咲くのが楽しみだよ。
