たまに書道遊びをします。気が向いた時、気の向くことを小さな和紙に書きます。書道の道具もミニです。ミニと言えども硯で墨を磨ります。墨汁の書は好みません。ヴァイオリンと同じく自分の音、自分の濃淡には、それを作り出す喜びがあります。（書道遊びをするヴァイオリン弾き　美智子）

I enjoy doing Japanese calligraphy on a small sheet of paper when I feel like it. My calligraphy tools are miniature, too. Yet, even on this small size, I grind my own ink on an inkstone; using bottled liquid ink is not my taste. Just as with the violin, there is a distinct joy in creating my own sound—or in this case, my own shades and tones. (Michiko)
