On the second Sunday of April, the Japan America Society held a garage sale. I volunteered to help raise money at the event. Donations of clothing and other items that people wanted to get rid of were accepted. I helped with pricing the items, putting them on display, and selling them to the public. When it was over, I helped with packing any items that were not sold to give to charity.

　四月の第二日曜日、アイオワ日米協会が、ガレージセールを開催しました。協会の運営資金を集める為です。私は、ボランティアとして参加しました。私たちは衣類の寄付をはじめ、不要になり処分可能なものを色々受け取りました。私は、その一つ一つに値札をつけ、テーブルの上に並べて売りました。終わった後、売れ残った物を箱に詰めるお手伝いもしました。
