Haiku Poem




dry leaves flutter
clear creek rushes by
brown deer lounges




枯葉敷く小川の岸や鹿の席

かれは しく おがわ の きし や しか の せき


I saw a beautiful outdoor scene this winter in Kansas. Looking outside there was a creek that flowed through a small forest. On either bank, deers were laying by the creek while brown leaves fell around them.


 今年の冬、私はカンザスの美しい風景を目にしました。私の自宅の窓越しに、綺麗な小川が見えます。小川は小さな森に流れ込んでいます。その小川の両岸に、ひらひらと枯葉が舞い散る中、数頭の鹿がゆったりと座っていました。
