Haiku Poem

candy store –
my gaze fills my stomach
and then I leave

When I feel like eating candy…

Although I’m usually mindful of my health, I sometimes get the urge to eat candy. When this happens, I visit the candy store and gaze unhurriedly at the glittering displays. I imagine the rich salty sweet flavors, and then the lingering sweetness in my mouth. Those thoghts alone are enough to make my stomach feel heavy, and so I am able to overcome my urge.
