Last weekend my parents came with me to take some pictures of my wedding dress.  I think it’s funny that the store uses a shoelace to tie up the backs of corset dresses — it’s quicker and easier than using the dress’s real tie thingy.  😀

  ５年程前、オマハの植物園でもたれた知人の結婚式に招かれたことがあります。その、Lauritzen Gardensと呼ばれる植物園は、オマハの東端のミズーリー川を見下ろす丘の上にあります。５年前は開園したばかりの時で、掘り起こしたばかりの土や、植え付けて間も無い植物があちらこちらに見えました。結婚式はとんがり屋根の建物の中央にある大きな屋内庭園であり、高いガラスの天井、ぐるりと並んだ円柱、大きく育った植物に囲まれた式はなかなか良い雰囲気でした。  オマハに移ってきましたので、５年間に植物園がどう変ったのか見に行ってきました。まず、白く塗った無蓋車が入園者を載せて丘の中腹を降りてきているのが見えました。そこで、花の見物はあとまわしにして、丘の上になにがあるのかと登ってみますと、途中には、１８５３年に大陸横断鉄道がオマハまで進展した際の写真が飾られていて、頂上にはでっかい機関車が２台すえつけられていました。見晴らしの良い頂上からはミズーリ川や対岸がよくみえます。良い気分になって、花を見物する件はすっかり忘れて帰路に就きました。

elevator etiquette

My new office building requires people who come in before 7am to use an access card to open the front door and to use the elevators.  For the elevators, you have to put in your card and leave it in there while you press the button for your floor.  Now, wouldn’t you expect the first person in the elevator to put in his or her card and then leave it there so that everyone else getting on could press their buttons?  But that’s not what people in this building do!  They put in their card, press their button, and snatch their card out!  😛

This morning, I was the second person in the elevator; the first woman did the snatchy-out thing.  Then I put in my card to press my button and left my card there for the last man to press his button, too… but he had Continue reading →

誕生日2連発

ウチの周りには１０月生まれが結構多いです。

高校までは稀だったのにな。

で、今日は２人誕生日。

1人は相方の姪っ子ちゃんの「ノンちゃん」
あっという間に1歳になりましたーパチパチ
お父さんお母さんどちらもめちゃ美形やしハーフやから、めちゃ可愛い。
絶対美人になる
すくすく　すくすく愛情いっぱい受けて育ってます。

トップ3人の運転手

今日は仕事自体は２０時に終わる予定だったけど、研修２時間もあったため２２時になってしまった。すごくためになる研修だったけど、仕事終わりに２時間はツライです…。
２日間に分けてほしかったなぁ。

でも脳外科にとってすごいためになる面白い研修だったから文句は言いません…。
教えてくれた先生たちありがとうございました。

そんなこんなで寮バスもなくなり、同じ寮の先輩３人を私の運転で乗せて帰ることに。

いじられ役

最近よく周りからいじられます。

特に病棟の同僚看護師、更に特に同期の子たちに。
「やっぱりあんたは昭和やな！ おかしいわ！(笑)」 など毎日のようにいじられています。
そんなに際立って言動 変かな～～？？　　ま～たぶん変だと思うけど。

あんまりいじられすぎると（ウチは自分に自信がないので）たまにへこみますが…(汗)
「いじられんかったらサムいだけやで（笑）」
「いじられるだけみんなに愛されてるってことやん！」
………。（；「＿「） イイヨウニマルメコマレテル？

family resemblance

岸和田のだんじり

ここ何週間かだんじりがあちこちでみられましたが、やっと大阪に静けさが戻ってきました。（実際はいつもにぎやかだけど）今日職場の同僚に９月から始まるだんじりカレンダーを見せてもらいました。岸和田の一年は９月から始まるらしい。だんじりのときは男の人がカッコ良く見えるらしく、だんじりが終わってしばらくするとできちゃった結婚が急増するんだって！
