I have osteoarthritis of the hip, so I go to an orthopedic clinic once a week for rehabilitation. I also do exercises at home by myself under the guidance of my physical therapist. I have to be careful not to move too much or overload myself, but I do some gentle self-training in a cool room while listening to music. (Photo by Michiko:Tangled tree in Honolulu)
[This is a very special gift that you can never see. The reason it’s so special is it’s just for you from me. Whenever you are lonely or even feeling blue, you only have to hold this gift and know I’m thinking of you. You never can unwrap it. Please leave the ribbon tied. Just hold it close to your heart. It’s filled with love inside. Jena Dec. 1988]
写真は、ジーナがハワイに来た時(右)と、カンザスのジーナの家に行った時(左)。This little box is a special gift from Jena. Two photos from about 35 years ago. One was when Jena came to Hawaii, and the other was when I went to Jena’s house in Kansas. I still haven’t opened this box. (July 2024, Michiko)
It’s hot outside. I want to see the blue summer sea but I don’t want to swim. So I wrote violin waves and swam in Japanese calligraphy in a cool room. (Michiko)
NACOS International Institute Network for Advancing Communication & Organization Skills
Sometimes new friends ask me what NACOS stands for. So I would like to explain a little for my friends who are interested. The name is the first letter of this phrase. Established 1989, Honolulu, Hawaii by Shuzo&Michiko Nakamura. Even after moving our base to Japan and changing our format in 2013, we still value our policy and enjoy communicating with our friends both in Japan and overseas. In 2024, we will be celebrating our 35th anniversary.
This photo was taken 35 years ago on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. I’m a little embarrassed to show it but this is the only photo I’ve ever taken in a swimsuit on the beach, so I’m posting it for the record. (Michiko)
I went to the Kawakita Film Museum in Kamakura. Today, I saw the Italian movie, “Cinema Paradiso”. The theme music, composed by Ennio Morricone, is one of my violin solo repertoires. When I went outside, I heard the beautiful voice of nightingale. There was a calm and pleasant atmosphere both inside and outside. (Michiko)
It was muggy and overcast outside this morning, and then I got back home, it started raining. I turned on the FM radio while eating my delicious homemade sherbet. The radio started playing Schumann’s beautiful Cello Concerto in A minor, with its romantic melancholy. For some reason, I wanted to see a deep blue sea garden, so I made one on my desk. (Michiko)
