I’m singing “A seagull is a seagull” by Ken Naoko while watching YouTube on my computer. I’m planning to enter a karaoke contest this summer, but I only practice two songs at home occasionally. (Michiko)
2024 was the 40th anniversary of the Honolulu Lights. The lights and exhibitions are put up after Thanksgiving and they are all lit up during the first week of December and are taken down the second week of January. Since it was the 40th Anniversary there was a much bigger display of lights. About 50% more than usual. There was even a miniature train that took people through the lights and exhibits for free! I hope it will be the same in 2025!
I maintain a sense of balance by doing self-training at home, avoid catching a cold by cooking simple, nutritionally balanced meals, occasionally use a face mask before going to bed, make hot drinks, and I’m enjoying a little bit of winter atmosphere at home. (Michiko)
It is a garden-style cemetery with warm sunlight. A small winter wind whispered to me, “Always live cheerfully with a moderate sense of tension.” After praying at the grave, I always have a little chat with the staff of the cemetery management office and have tea. (Michiko)
January 6th is our 46th wedding anniversary. Until our 43rd anniversary, we had built a married life together. It is a blessing to have the power to turn sadness into joy. I think I will be smiling on our golden wedding anniversary, too. It is a present from me to myself. (Nakamura Michiko)
Third day of the New Year. This is a small scene from my New Year’s holiday at home. I’m doing my own training little by little. So I’m not lacking in exercise by stretching and playing badminton by myself. I enjoy making simple, nutritionally balanced recipes as well. (Michiko)
