Good evening. I attempted to write a short story for a change, so I’m sending it. It seems that there was some miscommunication about my Nagaya page so you had to redo it… I’m sorry for putting you to so much trouble, but please take care of it for me. I will reflect on not writing anything for a long time.

I will graduate from college soon. My goal for the past four years was to be able to state the good points of all my classmates. Discovering their good points was fun and easier than I thought it would be. Thankfully, it seems that I was able to accomplish my goal.

And yet, since we were sharing the same space for four years, we sometimes butted heads as well. There were many different ways of thinking. Of course we came to see each others’ bad sides. If I just accepted it meekly, this would have been terribly painful and the misery would have been too much to bear. I hate feeling like that, so when I could only see people’s bad points, I would pass it off as just being part of their personality. When I did this, all of a sudden, nothing bothered me any more. ■2004/02/29 (日)

debleの高校来の連れであるinurinZ氏（30）が今日
めでたくゴールインされた。2月29日というのがまたミソで覚えやすい！

特に身近な友人が結婚するのは何かとてもうれしい。
披露宴も明るく楽しく盛り上がり、石見神楽の生演奏まで拝めてしまった！
新郎・新婦とも八重歯がポイントの2人。
デジカメでとった50枚もの画像CD-ROMを今度渡すけん。
これからもお幸せに♪

あと結婚式での楽しみは久しく会っていない友人と話ができること。
バイヤー・ティーチャー・ポリスマン・ポストマン・建具職人・学生約１名…etc.
いろいろな職種に就いた友人との語らいは話を聞いているだけでも
おもしろい。やはり持つべきものは友人である。

■2004/02/24 (火)

今日、同じ学科のスキースノボ好き３人といっしょに
瑞○ハイランドスキー場へいった。

瑞○といえば、中四国地域の中では大型で洗練されたコースと、
裏腹に日本一リフト料金が高いスキー場（９時間券５５００円！）
として名を馳せており、学生の財布に優しくないスキー場なので、
あえて行くのを避けていた。

しかし広島にいるうちに一度は行っておかないと、ということで
行くことを決意した。また最近の春一番でぐんと暖かくなり、
広島・島根のスキー場も前面滑走可がなくなっていっている中、
瑞○だけは前面滑走かを死守していたこともあって、行くことを決めた。

実際にいって滑ってみると、ゴンドラ終点より上部はこの時期には
奇跡というくらいに雪質がよく、気持ちいい滑走が楽しめた。
またタタミというコースでは、かなりのスピードで滑降してくることが
可能で、予想以上の満足感であった。

しかし昼を過ぎると、やはり気温５度以上あるので解けてきだし、
雪質もシャーベットで重～くブレーキがかかるような滑りなってしまった。
雪質は致し方ないが、総合的に見てもなかなかの高得点であった。

しかしリフト券はコンビニ購入などの割引がほとんどないため、
やはり高い。。雪質がよいときにもう一度だけ行ってみようかなあ。

■2004/02/21 (土)

今日は朝早くに起きて早速桂浜へ。さわやかな潮風に気持ちいい朝を迎えた。

桂浜を後にした我々は、すぐに帰路へ。
仁淀川に沿って上流に登っていき、とても大きな四国山脈を５キロにも及ぶ
長いトンネルで突っ切って、あっという間に愛媛の西条市に。

昼飯には、四国ではメジャーなラーメンチェーン店「豚○郎」で食す。
味はそこそこながら、なかなか安いのが売りのようで、味噌ラーメンが
甘い味付けでそこそこうまかった。

昼飯後すぐに今治を経て、再びしまなみ海道へ！
途中でこの間山火事のあった生口島により、焼け焦げの山々に胸を痛めつつ、
夕方５時過ぎに三原着！総走行距離６００キロ以上ながらも、３０リッター
タンクのアルトで給油は１回のみ！改めて低燃費のすばらしさを思い知った。

■2004/02/20 (金)

道の駅だったこともあり、目覚めるとかなり人で賑わっていた。
すぐに出発し近くの温泉にgo!駅舎の中にある温泉でなかなかいい朝風呂！

今日は四万十川に沿っての約150キロの快走！
途中名物の天然ウナギの定食を食す。
四万十川産のウナギはとても身がしまっていて脂っこくなく、
川魚のウナギを食べることができた。
脂の乗った、という表現はウナギでは逆に養殖物ということだそうだ。

どんどん河口から上流に沿って車を走らせる。
やはり四万十の流れは、ドライバーの気持ちも穏やかにさせる。
車内に入る風も心地よい。

アルトでがたがたの林道を超え、四万十川源流点までたどる。
以前inuZ氏や球職30氏、クラコレともいったことのあった場所だが、
今回はちがう。まだ雪が残りシャーベットで滑る滑る到着した
「源流の碑」前に車を止め、さらに山に入って15分歩く。
すると見えてきた「源流点」！ここまであがったのは初めてで
3回目にして初めて登った。ここでＰＥＴボトルに水を入れる。
飲んでみると軟水のようで、口当たりがよく、ごろごろしていなかった。

そろそろ日も暮れてきたので、足早に山林地帯を脱出し、
目指す目的地高知へ！約６年ぶりとなる高知は相変わらずの
田舎臭さを残した（いい意味で）まちだった。

市内中心部から１０分ほどいったところでえぐっちと合流！
実習はなかなかハードながらも、楽しくやっているとのことでよかった！
焼肉を野郎３人で食べた後、焼肉の後はラー麺でしょう！（deble感覚）
ということで高知では有名なミルクラーメンのある店へ行くことにした。

出てきたミルクラーメンは、コーンスープのような味わいで、まろやか。
汁も全部飲んでしまうくらいのあっさり感であった。うまい！！！

今宵は桂浜に通じる海沿いの駐車ゾーンで就寝。。

 にがつ の できごと

　私は相変わらず毎日平凡にやっています。今は、国家試験の勉強ばかりの毎日です。
就職は、長崎県の大村市にある病院に内定しました。試験に合格さえすれば採用になるでしょう。

　試験が終わったら友人と卒業旅行に行く予定です。
イ ンドに行く予定だったんですが、予定していた日にちが一杯で行けなくなりました。
今別の場所を検討中です。

 卒業して少し落ち着いたら家でネットを繋ごうか と考えている、この頃です。

■2004/02/19 (木)

 今日の夕方から「えぐっち」の実習地である高知まで

つれと2人で車で殴りこみ・・・いや激励をしにいった。

そのままいくのももったいないので、

しまなみ～松山～宇和島～四万十川～高知

の順で行くことに！今日は夕方に出発したので、しまなみ海道を渡り終え

た頃にはすでに暗くなり、松山市内に入った頃には夜になった。

  

松山ではうまいと評判のカレー屋「スパイス王国」に行き夕食。

その直後に店向かいにあった今では貴重な牛丼屋（松山ローカル）で、さらに満腹。

夜の宇和街道（国道56号）は車も少なく、快走して２２時頃には宇和島着。

今日は近くの道の駅で車中泊。せまいアルトの中で寝れるのかと思ったが、案外よく寝れた。

明日はえぐっちとの再会である。

Lately, when I go out and I see small children, my face will almost certainly relax into a contented smile. It is happy and contented. When I see babies, in particular, my eyes are riveted to them. I do this so much that the mothers holding the infants look back at me suspiciously.

Babies are so cute. Why are they so darn cute? Their little hands and feet, their soft red cheeks… My maternal instincts are completely aroused. Ah, so cute…

If I get married someday, I want three children. (This is because I have two siblings myself) Even if I get tired of caring for the children every day, when they make their cute faces I will probably take lots of pictures of them with my camera. I hope this future will come to pass…

I like skiing so much. So, when the skiing season is over in March, I am already anxiously awaiting the next skiing season which is nine months away. In the midst of the people who are glad at the coming of spring, there is a man who is already waiting for the next winter.

I first became acquainted with skiing when I went on the graduation trip during my days at my previous university. My first time skiing, I couldn’t ski very well, and the whole experience consisted of my butt hurting, my knees being sore, and my whole body crying out in pain. The thought crossed my mind that I would never ski again. However, the thought of just giving up annoyed me so, three days before my new job ceremony, I decided to try it just one more time. As before, I couldn’t ski well, but something about it grabbed hold of me. I felt the exhilaration of gliding with nature all around me. Since then, I have been possessed by a ski demon. I’ve really been thinking about this lately, but Japanese people are not very expressive, huh. Even before this, I wrote a little about my thoughts on the subject entitled, "Silence is Gold." If you don’t speak up, you can go on without anything really good or bad happening. Nothing will happen at all. However, going on like this is not enough. I really miss the wealth of expression and smiling faces of the people of Hawaii.
