Club Night
I haven’t been to a club in four or five years. Actually I think the last time I went to a club it was in Ropponji Japan. But tonight, being that I completed a year and a half long college course I decided to go out. I guess it wasn’t bad but it reminded me I’m definately not a "club guy". It was alright and I danced a bit but after about 45 minutes to an hour I found myself ready to go. The music was too loud so you can’t really talk to anyone, 70% of the club patrons were wasted and looking to fight someone, and because you have to pay for the "atomosphere" the drinks well exceed the point of being overpriced. After I left I got a "drunk call" message on my cell from someone I know who I happened to run into while at the club. I’m not sure exactly what he was saying but it was something about: "Jang mar. Jang mar really. So youggrr know I’m serious. I’m sssayying yeah….that’s what I said. So YOU, know. I’m serious." Guess I’ll find out more on that tomorrow.

Blah Blah Blah
Well here I am the last weekend before my finals begin and I find myself pretty bored. I figure at this point if I don’t know it I won’t know it. So besides a little review here and there I really don’t have anything to study. As a result I suddenly have a lot of extra time on my hands, but with no idea on how I should spend it, I’ve basically just sat around since Friday night trying to think of something to do. Guess hard liquor is once again looking like a viable option.

Going going back
SO…I’ve been pretty busy lately and haven’t had a chance to drop by the Nagaya. Here’s a rundown of the last few weeks:
School. Run. Sleep.
Good news is I’m done next month and then I’ll be moving back to Hawaii sometime in November.

Oha!
Running! I like it. A lot of people ask me "what’s wrong with you?" But I really like it. Even if it turned out that the real cause for high cholesterol or global warming was running, I’d probably keep doing it.

Getting older…
When I was in high school I’d stay up until 4 or 5 a.m. almost every weekend. It was also not uncommon for me to sleep until one or two in the afternoon. However, now that I’ve gotten a little older my concept of time has drastically changed. The other night I looked at the clock and realized it was almost midnight and my first thought was "What am I doing up so late?" haha. What’s more is if I’m not up by eight in the morning I feel like I’ve wasted the whole day. Kind of strange how much your perception of things can change in ten years.

Travel
Since joining the military I’ve been fortunate enough to do a lot of travel. I’ve been to Gaum, Japan, Okinawa (yes I know that’s Japan, but it’s not really "Japan"), Hong Kong, Malaysia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, and the Republic of Korea. I’ve also done a lot of domestic travel as well. As a matter of fact there was one year I spent over 230 days traveling (that’s not including vacations). Spending that much time on the road isn’t for everyone and my family and friends often ask me how I do it. But honestly, traveling has become such a part of my life that I don’t understand how people are content staying in one place.
Currently I’m attending school, so I’ve only been able to spend about a week traveling this year. And to tell you the truth I’m beginning to get more than a little restless. I think it will take a 12 hour plane ride, a ride on a bullet train, a 20 minute wait in a line for a rental car, an oppurtunity to try and explain to customs agent who doesn’t speak a word of English what an oscilloscope is, a chance to realize I’m completely lost, or to spend the first 30 seconds after I wake up trying to remember where I am before I’ll feel at ease again. Unfortunately, however it’ll be five more months until I get to do any of the above. So I guess the only option I’m left with is hard liquor.
