今日、Starburst キャンディを食べ終わりました。キャンディの紙に賞品のコードが書かれていました。賞品をもらえるかチェックするためにstarburst.com へ見に行きましたが、コードを入れる所を見つけることが出来ませんでした。それに、また紙をもっとちゅういぶかく読むと、コンテストの終わりは二千五年の九月だとわかりました！私のキャンディが古いのです！
 
I finished a pack of Starburst today, and it had one of those prize codes on the inside of the wrapper.  I went to starburst.com to see if I won anything, but I couldn’t find the place to enter the code.  Then I read the candy wrapper more carefully… and the contest had ended at the end of September 2005!  Holey moley — my candy was old!

時々、ただメールの伝達はちょっと可笑しいです。。。今日は小さいドラマがありました！大学の友人の友人は、私に、人種について質問しましたので、彼女は、私が怒ったと思いました。（彼女のウェブサイトを手直しするのを手伝っています。）しかし実は、私はウェブサイト改訂の問題があるので、報告するべき　進展がありませんでした。　：D
 
Sometimes it’s kind of funny communicating solely through email — I had a little bit of drama today, because my college friend’s friend, who I’m fixing up a website for, thought I was mad at her because she had asked me what ethnicity I was.  In fact, the only reason I hadn’t emailed her in a while was because I had been having trouble updating her website, so I had no progress to report.  😀

家族は色々な物を名付けて楽しみます。私の車に Vern と名付けて、両親の車は Gladys と Petunia、妹は Soba と Tofu Patty という車がありました。しかし、私より妹がもっといい名前を考えていると思います。
 
My family loves naming stuff.  I named my car Vern; my parents’ cars are Gladys and Petunia, and my sister’s had cars named Soba and Tofu Patty.  I think everyone else comes up with better names than me, though.  >_<

両親は友人達と一緒にたくさん旅行に行ってきますので、スーツケースのはかりをインターネットで探しました。重すぎて追加料金を支払いたくない。それで、携帯用の小さい秤を見つけました。その秤から、スーツケースをさげます。しかし、お客さんの感想はあまり良くありません。週末に、お母さんは釣り用具の店にもっと強い秤を探しに行くつもりです。お母さんは用心深いですね。
 
My parents are taking a lot of trips with their friends, so my mom was looking for a suitcase-weigher thingy on the internet last night, because she wants to be able to make sure that she won’t get charged for having too-heavy luggage.  She found a small travel scale that you hang your suitcase from, but the customer reviews weren’t too good.  Now she’s thinking of going to a fishing supply store to find a sturdier scale.  She’s so cautious!

3660 On The Riseというレストランで初めて食べました。すばらしい！ウェイターさんは小さいどうぐを持っていました。そのどうぐの目的は、コースの間に、テーブルのくずをはくのに使います。面白い！

I ate at 3660 On The Rise for the first time, and it was so posh!  The waiter had a little scooped scraper thingy that he used to sweep up the crumbs on our table when he was clearing dishes between courses.  Neat!

自宅の近くに古いレストランがあります。そのレストランで子供の頃から食べています。昨日の夜、レストランのゆかがけいしゃしていることに気が付きました。多分建物は古くなって、でこぼこしています！

There’s an old restaurant near my house that my family has been going to ever since I was little.  Just last night, we noticed that the floor was slanted… maybe the building is sinking unevenly!  O_O

三月に、大学の友人がペンシルベニアから訪ねてきます。楽しみにしています！一つだけ心配しています。私は食べることが好き、ハワイは沢山美味しい食べ物があるので、ふつう友達を色々なところに食べにつれて行きます。しかし、友人はグルテンにアレルギーがあります。醤油と酢はグルテンがあります！　：（

One of my college friends is coming to visit me in a couple of months, and I’m really excited!  I’m worried about one thing, though: usually, I like to take my friends on a food tour of Hawaii, because I love eating and we’ve got such yummy food.  However, my friend is allergic to gluten… which is usually in shoyu and vinegar!  Wah!

お母さんのバレーボールのぼうしの勝ったゲームを覚えていますか。しょうを選びながら、かわいくて、わくわくしていました。今、くだものの飲み物が四ケースありますが、飲みたくない。ざいあくかんを感じます！「いちご　メロン」という飲み物ですけど、ざいりょうは水とコーンシロップと梨しる。。。いちごとメロンがありません！しかし、ざいあくかん　－－　お母さんは可愛い！

Remember the volleyball-lampshade-hat game my mom won?  She chose some fruit drinks for her prize, and she was so excited and cute when she was deciding what to get.  Now we’ve got about four cases of these drinks in our house, and I feel really bad that I don’t want to drink them — they’re supposed to be strawberry-melon drinks, but the ingredient list goes like this: water, corn syrup, pear juice… there’s no strawberry or melon in there!  But I feel guilty — my mom was so cute!

インターネットの考えを試してみました。その考えは、百歩歩くごとに写真をとります。それに、新しいことに気が付きます。あいにく、二つ写真をとった後、カメラの電池がきれました！
 
I tried to do this thing I read about on the internet where you take a picture every 100 steps you take, so you can notice things that you would normally have passed by.  My camera’s batteries died after the first two pictures, though!
