おめでとう海から昇る初日の出

おめでとう　うみから のぼる　はつひので

The new year has arrived! In Hawaii the New Year always means the busy season for the tourist industry which is welcomed because the weeks leading up to New Years is usually very slow. In Hawaii we have many of the same traditions as in other areas of the Pacific region such as special foods and of course the New Years celebrations. This New Years the fireworks were not as many as in past years but there was still a nice fireworks show in Waikiki and as is the custom in the island of Hawaii we go to the top of Makapu on the East side to see the rising sun which is the first place on the island where the rising sun can be seen. Happy New Years!

明けましておめでとうございます！ハワイでは新年は観光産業にとって忙しい時期です。お正月までの数週間は観光客はそれほど多くないため、観光のスタッフにとっては嬉しいことです。ハワイの新年には太平洋地域の他の地域と同じような伝統がたくさんあります。例えば、特別な食べ物や、もちろん新年のお祝いなどです。今年のお正月は、花火の数は例年ほど多くありませんでしたが、それでもワイキキでは素晴らしい花火大会が開催されました。またハワイでは、新年にはオアフ島東側にあるマカプウの頂上へ、日の出を見に行く習慣があります。そこはオアフ島で最初に日の出が見える場所です。新年おめでとうございます！
