I took this photo when I lived in Honolulu. Each bus stop has a large roof that provided shade. Here in Fujisawa-city, I often take the bus. It’s very hot now. The only thing I can rely on at the bus stop on the road is a parasol. The bus stops have no roofs, and there are no large trees nearby to provide shade. In both Hawaii and Kyoto, I often saw trees being maintained for both the beauty of the landscape and safety. It’s hard to believe, but Fujisawa is cutting down trees after failing to regularly inspect them and provide proper maintenance. (Photo by Michiko at a bus stop in Honolulu)
