A great thing to wish someone in the new year is to be healthy, wealthy and wise. These three words not only make a good rhyme but are also highly desirable traits to have. Wealth is not worth much without health. Furthermore, wisdom is the key to both gaining and enjoying the other two.

　新年を迎えて、誰かの健康、そして豊かさを願い、賢さが身に備わることを祈るのは素晴らしいことです。この三つの言葉は、響きが良いだけでなく、誰もが最も望むものでもあります。富は、健康でなければ、値打ちが落ちます。その中で、知恵は、他の二つを得て、それをより楽しむ為の鍵です。
