Dinner Party

This week I attended a banquet put on by the Honolulu Chinese Community Action Coalition. It was held at a restaurant in Chinatown. The restaurant had a small parking lot in back which was hard to find. I was lucky to get a parking spot! The dinner was very good with several traditional Chinese dishes. The atmosphere was good and the people were all very warm and inviting. During part of the dinner there was a speaker who explained recent health care rule changes regarding Medicare to those attending. Unfortunately, it was mostly in Cantonese so I was really lost! I quickly recovered however after getting very lucky during the raffle. I actually won twice! The prizes included coupons to Costco and a local Vietnamese restaurant as well as a matcha green tea bowl. It’s a good thing that I purchased some raffle tickets. Remember, you always have to play in order to win! Special thanks to the HCCAC for putting on such a special event.
