Yesterday, on my way home from the NACOS conference, I took a picture of Mt. Fuji from my airplane window. Because the image was so beautiful, I showed it to some of my patients.





Fuji is a special mountain for the Japanese. Many old artists chose Fuji as the subject of their paintings, and there is even a song dedicated to it. The mountain has also become a place of worship.





One patient set aside a cane that she was using for support, and honored the picture with a bow. She said, “you have shown me something great”, and became very happy.

昨日、ナコスカンファレンスの帰りの飛行機から富士山の写真を撮りました。
あまりに綺麗に撮れたので患者さんにも見てもらいました。

富士山は日本人にとって特別な山です。
富士山の歌もありますし、古い時代の画家もたくさん描いています。
信仰の対象にもなってきました。
そんな富士山は、たとえ写真でも、敬意を払わずにいられません。

ある患者さんは支えにしていた杖をおき、お辞儀をされました。
そして、「いいものを見せてもらった」と大変喜んでもらえました。
